Guest guest
WOW!!! I am a bit overwhelmed and feeling a lot more support due to the abundance of your replies. Surgery is tomorrow. I have had all my blood work done, blood thinner test done, EKG and chest x-ray -- passing all! Today I had my joint replacement seminar. I pretty much know that surgical l and recovery aspect cuz of my right knee being done in 2004. OMG the hospital really does things a lot differently now. There is a separate wing of a floor set aside for ONLY joint replacements. All of the nurses are trained in joint recovery. When I had my right knee done I was handed over to a student nurse. She was a very nice person, but not nearly trained enough, if you know what I mean. I'll try to answer a few questions: Pat, the reason I'm going to a rehab is because there will be 2 kids under 3 years old at the house when I get home. I need to learn how to be steady on my feet dodging toys and whatnot. Donna I'm sure impressed at your healing rate. Since you've have both done, how would I get into the car to drive? I have tried and tried several different ways and nothing where I can get in without moving to a 90 degree angle. YIKES I report to the hospital at 9:30 with surgery at 11:30. If the rehab place I go to has Wi-Fi I will log on. Take care and God Bless, Marie
