The Learning Styles of Girls and Boys

SHAKER HEIGHTS, OHIO – Laurel School and The Galvin Education &

Resource Center for Families (GERCF) invites the public to a

presentation on Wednesday September 21 at 7:00 p.m. by Ann V.

Klotz, Head of Laurel School, and Carl U. Weitman Ph.D., a clinical

psychologist who specializes in the neuropsychology of children and young

adults. The title of their presentation is The Distinctive

Learning Styles of Girls and Boys: Myth & Reality.

Dr. Weitman will explore the latest neurological evidence about the ways

in which the brain “learns” and in doing so, compare and contrast the

learning styles of girls and boys. Ann Klotz will focus on her

experience as an educator in all-girl school setting, and direct many of

her comments to the different learning styles among girls and the

need for educators to be attuned to those differences.

GERCF is a non-profit foundation based in Beachwood with a mission to

bring new information to families of children with special needs.

Laurel School offers an exceptional education to girls from Kindergarten

through Grade 12; the School also supports a highly-regarded

coeducational Early Childhood Center.

The presentation will be held at Laurel School, located at One Lyman

Circle, Shaker Heights.

RSVP to GERCF at 216.514.1600 or by email at
