Following the training,participants will fan out to varies Congressional offices with a clear gameplan and talking points to gain co-sponsorship for three (3) pieces oflegislation that will benefit the entire autism community. The tentative schedule foe "A Day on the Hill" is as follows: 8:00 AM -- 1:00 PM -- Briefing and Training -- (Gold Room --Rayburn Building) 1:30 PM -- 3:30 PM -- Member Visits 4:00 PM -- 6:00 PM -- 40th Anniversary reception and congressionalawards (banquet room B339 -- Rayburn Building) About The "Caucus" The goals of the bipartisan Coalition for Autism Research and Education willinclude, but are not limited to: 1. Increasing general awareness of autism and autism spectrum disordersamong Members of Congress and policy analysts in federal government; 2. Educate Members of Congress on current and future researchinitiatives regarding autism; 3. Serve as a forum where autism-related policy issues can beexchanged, debated, and discussed; 4. Bring together public, private, and government entities to pursuelegislative initiatives that will help facilitate advanced treatments-andultimately a cure-for autism spectrum disorders. 5. Promote all means to ease the burdens of families and loved onesaffected by autism I fully realize that this announcement does not provide much advance timefor planning and making arrangements to attend. As many of you know, eventsin Washington DC can pop up in an instant.
