Guest guest
Hi, Pleased to hear that everything went well with the surgery. Just to quickly answer the " packing removal " question from my own experience. My doc told me not to remove the packing, so after about 2 weeks, it was starting to get kinda yucky, and I couldn't wait till the visit to the doctor. Pretty much he just removed packing from the ear canal, and cleaned out some of the dried blood and gunk that was in there. It was completely painless for me, and to be honest, it was a huge relief because it was starting to get kinda uncomfortable (not painful, just uncomfortable). I guess it varies depending on the surgery, but it was pretty much this way for both surgery's that I had. The doc had given me ear drops to put in on top of the packing 3 times a day. Hope this all makes sense. > > Hi all, Just to let you all know that Chloe's surgery on Fri went well, > better than we all expected. Guest guest
Hi Sue, They basically design a little thing that they can tug on to pull it out. It only takes a few seconds. It doesn't hurt and it feels really good to get it out. She might experience momentary dizziness. I personally didn't, but others on this list have mentioned it. The only thing that ever hurt for me was the bandage on the first day, so if she's beyond that, pain-wise she is likely home free. You may need the reconstruction to happen before the hearing improves. Glad she's past the surgery, Matt Sue wrote: > > Hi all, Just to let you all know that Chloe's surgery on Fri went well, > better than we all expected.
