MAINTAINS AND ORGANIZES THEIR OFFICE AND LIBRARY MATERIAL FOR FAMILIES. CONDUCTS WORKSHOPS AND PERFORMS PARENT ADVOCATE/TRAINER DUTIES FOR THE OCECD. REPORTS TO CO-DIRECTOR. STATEWIDE TRAINING COORDINATOR SUPERVISES THEIR DAILY WORK. RESPONSIBILITIES PARENT ASSISTANCE ASSISTS PARENTS BY PHONE AND/OR IN PERSON TO UNDERSTAND SPECIAL EDUCATION RULES ASSISTS PARENTS BY MAILING OR PROVIDING INFORMATION ASSISTS PARENTS BY CONTACTING SCHOOL TO ASSIST IN CHILD RECEIVING APPROPRIATE SERVICES ASSISTS PARENTS BY REFERRALS AND LOCATING SERVICES ASSISTS PARENTS BY ATTENDING IEP MEETINGS, ADMINISTRATIVE REVIEW AND MEDIATIONS PROVIDES TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE TO PARENT MENTORS IN THEIR REGION PER REQUEST. ATTENDS REGIONAL PARENT MENTOR MEETINGS WHEN INVITED. OBTAINS KNOWLEDGE AND KEEPS UP‑TO‑DATE ON RULES, STANDARDS, PROFICIENCY TESTS, BEHAVIOR MODIFICATIONS, IEP, AND MFE IN ORDER TO ASSIST FAMILIES IN THE BEST WAY FOR THE CHILD TO LEARN BECOMES KNOWLEDGEABLE ABOUT COMMUNITY RESOURCES TO SHARE WITH FAMILIES (i.e.HMG, BCMH, WIC, SSI, WAIVERS) WORKSHOPS/PRESENTATIONS CONDUCTS WORKSHOPS FOR PARENT AND PROFESSIONAL GROUPS ON IEP, RIGHTS, SECTION 504 AND OTHER TOPICS WHEN REQUESTED. PROVIDES PRESENTATIONS TO GROUPS ABOUT OCECD AND THE PARENT PERSPECTIVE ON DISABILITIES. LEARNS TOPICAL INFO AND PRESENTATION SKILLS. FILL REQUESTS FOR BROCHURES, BOOKLETS ORGANIZE AND MAINTAIN THEIR LIBRARY MATERIALS FOR FAMILIES KEEPS COMPLETE RECORDS ON FAMILIES SERVED. · SUBMITS CONTACT AND ACTIVITY FORMS MONTHLY. · SUBMIT TRAINING FORMS WHEN TRAINING IS CONFIRMED · SUBMIT MEETING REQUEST FORMS REGULARLY ATTENDS REGULAR STAFF MEETINGS, CONFERENCE CALLS, SOME CONFERENCES.
