Hopefully, you wrote down the name of the file as you were downloading. If not, try and download again and write down the name. After it's done, go to START, FIND, FILES & FOLDERS, and type in the name of the file. When it brings up the one you want, double click on it. VOILA!!!!! My 11 mo old achon baby LOOOOVES his swing. It reclines almost all the way back. (kinda like a carseat) My cousin had a swing I would have loved to have. It was a bed swing. kinda like a small bassinett that could either swing back & forth or front to back. I also have a vibrating infant seat that reclines. Guest guest
nne, A good place to start is melt and pour soap. This is a base that you simply melt in your microwave/double broiler, add whatever you like, and pour into molds. It sets up within 30 min.-2 hours. You can find the soap base at your local craft store. If you can't find it there, there are numerous sources online you can find. After that, you can start with making batches of basic soap, using lard, tallow, olive oil (beware-this soap can be challenging to make!), and numerous other base oils. Search online for any good resources, and look to your library for good books on essential oils and soapmaking. You can get a lot of books through interlibrary loan, so make sure to ask your librarian about that, too. Some titles that are good are " Handmade Soap " by Coss; " The Soapmaker's Companion " by Norma Coney, and " Perfume " by Newman. The last books is more on scent, but it is a great resource if you become interested in mixing scents. hope this helps! let me know if you need any more info. whitney
Guest guest
Patti: I answered your question privately, but for the curious, the cost of outpatient banding is ~$16,000 TOTAL including 1 year of follow-up and all fills. Dr. does banding at OSHU. And to be fair, in addition to the doctors in Kirkland there are 2 in Tacoma, Washington and at least 1 in Shelton, Washington doing banding. I think that's it but I'm not positive. Go to www.lap-band.com and put in your zip code and they will send you a list of banding doctors in your area. Lynn: call me at work next week 425-899-4610 and I'll give you the code numbers that you need. If you are going through us bring or fax your insurance letter. I write great letters of medical necessity ALL DAY LONG. Some people have gotten their banding paid for by insurance EVEN WHEN THEY HAVE A WEIGHT LOSS SURGERY EXCLUSION. However, your best bet for pursuing that is Walter Lindstrom the attorney at www.obesitylaw.com. Your doctors office will submit a request for your insurance to cover your procedure but if you get a denial you will either have to pursue the appeal on your own or get Walter to do it. I heard he charges at little as $450 to start the appeal process. ---------- The only reason I'm answering these here is I do think these are " regional " issues. ---------- Joanne's stint as North End Coordinater of the Soup Nights has ended. Anybody else want to take over for June and July. We can just use Elma's picnic for the August meeting. Then we need another coordinator for then next 3 months. I am thinking we could just go back to Central Market, hope for good weather and sit at the tables out front for June and July if that's OK with everybody else. Guest guest
I saw this on another list. It looks like a nice alternative to Boardmaker :-) Maureen I downloaded the Overboard program demo - it's extremely easy to use, but uses a different symbol set (not MJ PCS symbols), and it IS less expensive. Their site is at www.Gusinc.com/Overboard Hi , I understand your resistance to "change". BM has been around a long time and until recently, there hasn't ever been an alternative. We've gotten used to BM, despite its age, cost, and quirky design. Overboard (www.gusinc.com)took several years to develop here in the United States. Our beta testers confirmed that Overboard is easier to use and more intuitive. Many of these participants commented that they rarely, if ever, needed to use the menu bar (eg. File, Edit etc.) Searching for symbols was "simpler and the thumbnails are much easier to see". You can DOWNLOAD Overboard and give it a try (free). With 5 days to trial it, families and professionals alike can create a few needed communication boards at absolutely NO COST. With Overboard, software upgrades are free. No $99 upgrades to purchase every year or two. And there are no symbol "addendums" to purchase every year or two either. Over the past few years, budgets have been cut across the country for assistive and special education technologies. Overboard's pricing is designed to save those budget dollars for purchasing new equipment, not upgrading existing software. No other vendor follows this model. Boards/pages created with Overboard can be posted to our website so other SLPs, parents, educators and caregivers can enjoy them as well. Again...free. The Overboard communication symbols (over 5,500) are suitable for all ages, including older children, teenagers and adults. One of our goals was to minimize the reluctance many potential speech device users exhibit when they view a "high tech" $7,000 communication device that is sprinkled with stick men and silly faces. As a speech device vendor, I've witnessed that reluctance from older children, teenagers and adults countless times over the past 14 years. And as an SLP, I'm sure you've experienced this as well. This single issue has been an on-going hurdle for many of us. The communication symbols, as you know, are the "skin" of a speech device. Their appearance affects how the user feels about the speech device (will they use it?). To further that goal, we embedded a link to Microsoft's library of over 130,000 clipart images, symbols and photographs. They are incredibly well done and FREE. Again, the intent is to make the best symbols and images available to Overboard users, at no cost. You can easily copy/paste symbols from Overboard to BM and visa versa. So for a little more than the cost of a BM upgrade, you can have the full version of Overboad (including 5,500+ symbols) to use on its own, or as an "add-on" to BM. Finally, we offer a "College Version" of Overboard ($30) created specifically for instructors and students with classes in speech, language or communication to help introduce them to the concepts involved in creating communication boards and overlays. By the way, we released an updated version of Overboard just this morning (April 11th). I sincerely hope you enjoy Overboard and continue to use for many years to come.
