,

I got a doctors order to not vacinate my son and had it sent to my son's school. Doctor's orders rules over everything. My son's doctor is a DAN doctor who has a child with autism so he totally understands.

It seems that the public schools are a bit more difficult to deal with and most are ignorant to the fact that there is any exemption, so don't let them tell you that you MUST vaccinate because the law is behind you, for now.

Hope this helps,

Hi ,

I vote whatever way works! ;o)

The thing about the doctors order is that your child is truly affected by the vacinnations. If you are speaking of an autistic child who has allergies, which most children with autism do have of one kind or another allergy which is what causes some of the behaviorial problems in our children. Also most people aren't aware that asthma is actually an allergy problem mostly by food allergies and then environmental allergies also contribute. Not sure what to do about a child without autism other than the religious belief exemption.

Thanks, n, who is your dr? I know we could get one through the dr, but all county health department have the right to overrule a medical exemption. Since vaccinations have fetal tissue included, and we are against abortion, I thought a religious exemption was a better way to go? Maybe or maybe not.

- I don't know who n's dr is, but a good dr is Dr. Demio. He's not our phys - too far away -but I have heard him speak at parent groups, and I definitely think he would write an exemption. Since Bobby (my son) already had his first MMR before his diagnosis, chances were in our favor that he already had enough antibodies to be immune. Our phys had the titers drawn, and sure enough, he was immune. Our doctor then wrote a note to the school saying such. It seemed less controversial to go that way for our family. ----- Original Message ----- From: Cochran Sent: Tuesday, February 21, 2006 9:15 AMSubject: Re: [ ] - About School Vacination protocolThanks, n, who is your dr? We could see him, but already paid one dr, the big initial fee and she left practice. Hate to pay the intial big fee just for a letter of exemption. But I could call and just see if he would see us for consultation and write the letter. She is recovered, completely, no problems left, so no need to keep seeing the dan! dr either.

And what do you do on the off chance if the titers aren't high? Then you have this paper out there that says your kid is not protected. But glad it worked out, for you.
