Hi!

I found this on the net:

http://www.unboundmedicine.com/medline/ebm/record/16514799/full_citati

on/Anterior_atticoantrostomy_for_cholesteatoma_surgery_

By the way, doo you know exactly in what consists your surgery?

I think that's what they did to me 3 days ago for 2nd surgery...

Since my new eardrum was already sucked in my ear, and that the top

of the attic was not looking good, without c-toma recurrence, they

reinforced the whole area with grafts... (the upper bony part of the

attic, and the upper part of the eardrum). This, to create a healthy

atmosphere in the ear.

In the article above mentioned, the statistical results of this

surgical technique look good.

Can't confirm this was really performed in my surgery, cause never

ask for the medical terminology of the procedures performed...

Take care,

Cris

P.S. the pins and needles: I had numbness on my ear and tongue, but

not near my eye. Your doctor should know why you have that feeling

though.

October 08.

eventually disappear?

Thank you ,

If this can give you courage, I found my second surgery to be much

easier and less intrusive... Much less 2nd effects like bruises on

the neck, or desenbilized tongue, or even jaw inflamation... I guess

the big work is done the first time!

Good recovery to you too,

Cris

Maybe soo (for the beat up)! hopefully (not everyone gets those bad

2nd effects)! Did not live that again a week ago... and don't wish

anyone goes thru the same thing! C-toma was pretty exttensive though

the first time... So I guess, the ENT did what he had to do. Is it

the fact I told them at the pre-op every thing that went wrong, and

that this second time they took all the necessary precautions? Or

that surgery was just easier for them? Don't know...

Best wishes to all, Cris
