Guest guest
As mentioned in a previous post, my daughter has recently been diagnosed with having a c-toma. It's been quite a shock as her ears have been quite infection-free for a couple of years now, although she does have a considerable conductive hearing loss which has worsened over the years. Her consultant diagnosed the c-toma after cleaning out her ear, which he said was full of debris around a t-tube site. He said her ear drum was retracted which I believe is a symptom of a c- toma. He has put her on the waiting list to have it removed, but did not take any CT scans first. She did have some about a year and half ago to determine if her middle ear bones were intact, but at the time after looking closley at them they said they were clean and bones seemed to be ok. Is it possible to diagnose the C-toma without CT scans?
