Providing this information should not be construed as an endorsement by the ASO, either explicit or impiled. -------------------------------------- Centers for Disease Control Public Participation MeetingsThere will be four meetings across the country to gather input forCDC's research agenda from partners, stakeholders and the public-at-large.Researchers and representatives of partner organizations will be invited tothese meetings. To expand public participation, these meetings will beadvertised in the Federal Register. Local media will also be used to notifythe public about the meetings and encourage attendance. The meetingfacilities are limited in size and attendees will participate in smallerbreakout sessions around the 6 research theme areas and cross-cuttingresearch to engage them in the process. The four meetings will take place inthe following cities on the following dates:March 31, 2005 Columbus, OH 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Hyatt Regency, 350 North HighStreet, Columbus, OH 43215; telephone 614-463-1234. Registrationbegins March 18, 2005.All those wishing to attend any of the meetings must register. See specificmeeting above for date of registration. The internal and external feedback will besynthesized by the Workgroups and Core Team to produce a public commentdraft by May 2005. After the draft is reviewed and approved by CDC seniorleadership, the Steering Sub-Workgroup and the EISC, it will go through a45-day public comment period. Announcements for the public to review andcomment on the draft agenda will go out through the Federal Register, CDCwebsite and large mailing distribution lists in June 2005. The CDC websitewill be used to post the agenda and obtain e-mail comments.
