Silly Putty for ear plug

I posted a response to someone asking what to use for an earplug.

Silly Putty seems to work best. Since my eardrum is completely gone,

and there is no hope of rebuilding it, I have to use a plug to keep my

ear dry daily, and have to always keep it handy. I explore caves, go

canoeing, kayaking, swimming, sailing, water skiing...etc. Scuba is no

longer an option and is kinda depressing, but life goes on. My doctor

actually recommended it. Although I avoid water sports since I don't

want infection, I try to keep it handy, so I put a piece in ziplock in

glove box, camp kitchen, pocket, etc. ...

Although, there are other brands similar to Silly Putty, they don't

seem to work. They fall apart in a gooey mess. Also the original color

is close to skin color, of white people anyway. I found it at ToysRus,

or any toy store might have it. Instead of buying one, I buy 6 or 7,

every couple of years. Each one you can make about 5-7 plugs. It's a

big hassle for life, but life goes on.

Also use nasal spray after shower. There are lot's of sprays with

" steroids " in them available. They are steroids that help the lining

of the inside of nasal passages. They aren't the steroids that

bodybuilders use. The brand Naseral works for me best. After you

shower, clear nose and put two squirts in each side of nose for about

a year. You can still also use a saline solution or a over the counter

12 hour spray. The Naseral really helped me overcome allergy problems.

Allegra helps me also. It comes with and without Sudafed.

Hope the tip helps some of you. Alan
