Guest guest
I think the most uncomfortable thing I am experiencing with the post- op surgery is this dizziness (also the hearing loss). I feel like I am in the twilight zone. I can't drive or do much of anything at this point. I feel like I am on drugs or something. Please tell me this goes away. G. Guest guest
Hi I've heard that room-spinning vertigo is never sustained for more than a couple of days. It's more likely that you'll be unsteady on your feet for a while. It leaves you feeling vulnerable and added to the deafness your access to the world is literally and psychologically diminished. If you're feeling like a zombie it may be because the body tends to shut down as a defence against the trauma of surgery (despite our reasoning, the body registers 'invasive head injury'). Many powerful painkillers also effectively suppress the system. Sorry to say that all you can do is allow your body to mend itself in it's good time. It passes. Phil I think the most uncomfortable thing I am experiencing with the post-op surgery is this dizziness (also the hearing loss). I feel like I am in the twilight zone. Guest guest
> Hi , when did you have surgery? Was it your first surgery or a reconstruction surgery? The reason I asked is after my reconstruction surgery I was soooooooo dizzy!! It lasted until the dr. went back in and removed the reconstructed bones! It is so much better now. Hang in there maybe it will go away on its own., Charla
Guest guest
Hi , Although it may not seem like it now....this dizziness will go away. I know it's annoying and almost drives you crazy. Other times it feels like some kind of cheap buzz!!!! After awhile I've gotten used to this dizziness, weird cuz if I'm not dizzy I'm still thinking I am. But that's cuz right now I think the ctoma is back full force, I'll find out Thursday. Kim Please tell me this > goes away. > > G.
Guest guest
Hi Charla, I had the surgery Tuesday the 22nd of oct. he removed the c-toma and did the reconstruction all at once. I won't see the doctor again until Nov 8th. Hopefully this is just temporary. G. > > Hi , when did you have surgery? Was it your first surgery or a > reconstruction surgery? Guest guest
Thanks Kim, I know what you mean about it feeling like a cheap buzz. I sure hope you don't have another C-Toma. Good Luck on your results. G. > Hi , > Although it may not seem like it now....this dizziness will go > away. I know it's annoying and almost drives you crazy. Guest guest
- I had severe dizziness following my radical mastoidectomy. It was so bad that I could hardly get out of bed. The doctor suggested Meclizine (sp?) which took the edge, but ended up prescribing steroids because of swelling in the balance canals. It went away as soon as I started the steroids. Best of luck with this. Be sure to tell you doctor. - D. > I think the most uncomfortable thing I am experiencing with the post- > op surgery is this dizziness (also the hearing loss).
