,

I have to agree that the infections are sometimes scarier than the ctoma when you can't get rid of them! We have done multiple procedures at once and it's been fine. She had her adenoids out with a peek into both ears. She did really well and just wanted extra pops for her throat. I hope this surgery will get rid of her infections and go well for her!

Prayers and blessings,

Hi gang,

Katy had another ear infection this week. That makes 7 since June. She has been on IV thearpy 2 times now trying to get rid of the infection but no go so far. Now they are telling me that we need to look at her immune system and see if there is a problem. Has anyone else had constant ear infections? It is not even in just her left ear (C-toma Ear) but also her right ear. They have made changes to her 2nd look surgery now. On the 30th of Dec. she will be having both ears done. The left ear, 2nd look the other for tube removal and ear drum repair. They also saw something on her voice box (could be a wart or nodes) that he is going to remove. So she will be having double ear and throat surgery. I am freaking out. What with the possable immune problem, both ears and voice box I m terrified. I am so afraid she will come out of surgery not hearing and unable to talk. She just turned 4 in october and is suh a trooper. No complaining even through all the painful infections she has had. I just wish I could do this for you as I am sure all you moms and dads feel thanks for letting me vent. I love this group, you have put my mind at ease many a time.

, you are very lucky to have a dr suggesting her immune

system! My dr said I have had chronic life long ear infections. I

have never known as I've always had some hearing loss and never any

pain. I am NOW finding that foods are causing the infections. you

can do a blood test... needing to test for not only allergies, but

also " sensativities " . A nutritionist told me that the common ear

infection triggers are poultry (including eggs), dairy, gluten and

veggies in the night shade family (bell peppers, tomatoes, egg plant,

etc). I couldn't afford the blood test on top of all of my medical

bills, so I opted to do an elimination diet. I feel fluid in my ear

every time I eat chicken & eggs. Do a google search on foods that

cause ear infections and see for yourself. Post 2 surgeries, I am

now maintaining a tumor free status with nutritional changes.

Granted, I am only 4 months past my last surgery, but suddenly, my

hearing has come back and I seem to be healing. Only time will truly

tell, but I figure taking better care of myself really can't hurt.
