Guest guest
DR's have to be board certified to be a Otologist, ask your primary Dr to suggest one if you can't find one in local phone book. From: ww_chew <ww_chew@...>Subject: otologist or entcholesteatoma Date: Thursday, November 27, 2008, 8:16 PM I started to have ear bleeding intermittently since last year.I have my ct scan and surgery is arranging next few weeks. As i read from some group member, we shall look for otologist that specialised in ear problem, but i dont think i can find this so-called otoligist in this country.Question:1) will the doctor name card appears the word 'OTOLOGIST"? How to tell he is otologist?2) My ent told me that after the surgery, it is not possible that c-toma will recurr as long as the removal is done completely. How confident is this assurance as i used to heard from group member here that their c-toma is coming back few years after surgery.WW
Guest guest
What country do you live in? If the USA what state are you in? Someone in the group may know a Otologist in your area. It would be nice to know that the cholesteatoma will never return after it has been removed - but my question is how it got there in the first place (from ear infections, allergies, etc.)? I personally did not suffer from a bunch of ear infections as an adult that I was aware of - I have seasonal allergies but nothing that sends me to the doctor - so how did it appear? I guess that is a question that I have that can never really be answered. From: ww_chew <ww_chew@...>cholesteatoma Sent: Thursday, November 27, 2008 8:16:35 PMSubject: otologist or ent I started to have ear bleeding intermittently since last year. Guest guest
Hi Kent,As i searched in database table, there is only 2 members from malaysia. And i have posted message here to ask anyone from Malaysia but there were no reply. So is your surgeon only specialised in ear surgery (as the so called otologist), or he is also a general ent? I went to UM hospital before 5 years ago, but i only manage to see a general ent.Anyway, my surgery have been fixed next week and there is nothing much i can do now, other than to fullfill my curiousity. Thanks and regards,Chewp/s: u may email me personallyPosted by: "Kent Yap" ynydnt@... ynydnt Tue Dec 2, 2008 7:33 am (PST) Hi Chew, Am fr Malaysia as well, ain't sure whether you have counted me in.I am having problems with Ctoma for the last almost 20 years.I am now having my follow-ups with one prof.
