Peace be with you . -- Peace, love and light, Don Quai " Spirit sleeps in the mineral, breathes in the vegetable, dreams in the animal and wakes in man. Guest guest
, get yourself a little spray bottle of water and a fan and put them within reach of your bed. I used to mist myself and the air from the fan cools the burn immediately. This should help keep you more comfortable through the summer too. Guest guest
Hey Patty, I sympathize with you. Since I have had breast cancer there is not much out there I can have. However, there are a few things to avoid, spicy foods, chocolate and limit caffeine. Also, my Mother got relief by using a prescription drug called Elavil, this is typically used as an anti-depressant but one of the off label uses is specifically for hot flashes. One of the best things I have found is called a Bed Fan and I use it every night, the cool breeze seems to ward off the hot flashes for me. Here is the website you can order it from BeyondBeds.com. You can google it and see what it looks like as well as read a little about it. Good Luck, I hope this helps! Guest guest
My Dear Patty: I am sorry that you are having these hot flashes. It could be menopause; however, I still get these hot flashes. Do you remember that the people who worked in the factory, and touched the breast implants had bright red flushing. That is what I get, and my body is hot. The good news is that I seem to be getting better with the special air-conditioner that they have installed in our home. I still have night sweats, but they are getting better too. Honey, hang in there, and it might be a good idea to see your doctor. You should not have to suffer, and there is help. Stay close...love you....Lea ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Hot Flashes I am having an awful....JUST AWFUL...time with HOT flashes!!!!!Can anyone tell me how they overcame them, if you dealt with them?I am using bio-identical hormones, but these hot flashes are just making me a little crazy!!!I haven't had time to read up much on it lately, with my heavy physics homework. If you have any insight, please share,Thanks,Patty

Guest guest
Hi dear Lea, Thanks so much for your words of wisdom. I should try to see a doctor, but I'm so stubborn about it...I have procrastinated so long that it's been probably 5 years since I've had a Pap smear. I need to find a good gynecologist. I am glad to hear that you are getting some relief from the air conditioner you have in your home, and that your night sweats are getting better! I don't have the night sweats at all anymore, but I know I am in menopause, and these hot flashes hit me during the day and make me very uncomfortable. Thanks for your loving words. You are and have always been, a very special lady. Be well, Love, Patty > > My Dear Patty: > > I am sorry that you are having these hot flashes. Guest guest
Thanks Carolyn, I fasted today for the most part and found my hot flashing much reduced from yesterday....hoping a chane in my eating habits might have some good results. Thanks for your helpful input! Patty > > Hey Patty, I sympathize with you. Since I have had breast cancer there is not much out there I can have. Guest guest
Hi Patty, I switched to better eating 6/08 and got a lot of relief from menopause symptoms. IMO the book, Eat to Live, by Dr. Fuhrman is excellent. There's a website and a group for support and recipe sharing. Hugs, M. > I fasted today for the most part and found my hot flashing much reduced from yesterday....hoping a chane in my eating habits might have some good results.
