Guest guest
Hi - I just want to emphasis that titanium allergy is VERY RARE and did not want to scare people about my request for titanium allergy information. Since my son has had the unexplainable dermatitis for 1 year, directly after the implant, we are looking at ruling this out. In my research I have found only one confirmed case in South Africa, reported by the implant manufacturer and the post about the doctor in India who is choosing to use gold instead of titanium, due to a few reported cases. I have searched and have not found any reported cases in the US. There was also a couple reports on other titanium ear devices with possible allergic reactions reported. sallyhackett wrote: > > I realize that it is better to be aware than taken by surprise and > maybe I am naive or still in shock of this crazy 'disease' for my 5 > yr old. > > I thought after the second surgery to put the prosthesis in - life > would go on and be 'normal'.
