Hi all and Happy New Year !

I finally have my surgery scheduled for the 16th of this month. My

neurotologist wants to remove all the scar tissue in the middle ear that

was left from a previous ct-removal. He seems to think that it is

causing all the infections I'm having and that is less likely to happen

if the " bowl " is smooth. So it's basically a type of skin graft, if I

understand him correctly. He does not see another c-toma right now, but

we'll see !! I still have dizziness every day ( since July) and I also

have clear, odorless drainage from the bad ear. I used to get " waves " in

my head , which were very scary..now I have a tender spot on that side

of my head. It does not hurt like a headache, but it feels painful when

I touch it, comb my hair and lie down. I'm wondering if anybody else

ever had those symptoms with an ear condition or c-toma.

thanks

Elke

Hi Elke

What do you mean by waves? I've started having this problem with my

left ear where the sound comes in waves or pounds but it doesn't do it

all the time. It's mainly when I'm in a car but it is getting to be

annoying and starting to make my head ache.

I don't tend to get as much pain as I used to but there is still some,

especially from the ear that had the surgery in 2006. It is very

tender around the scar still.

I hope everything goes alright for you.
