Hi Lori. I am really sorry to hear that you are going through that right now. I had blood coming out of my ear too this was back in 2005, I ended up seing an ent and found out it was cholesteatoma. I ended up having it undiagnosed for more than 15 years. I am not sure how long it takes for it to get that bad when you have already had it. I get the same way as you dizzy at the slightest change like cold, wind, water. Just about anything. I am only feeling good when I stay indoors where it is warmer. I don't even use the drops anymore because it doesn't seem to work for me. I would definately see an ent asap the bleeding is not good, that is not a place anyone bleeds from on a regular basis. I hope it is something that can be fixed easily and without another operation for you. I hate the hospital too they always say the same thing they cant do anything you just need to get used to it that is what I am told

I am not telling you that though. Good luck with your ear. It has been bothering me for about 2 weeks, hurting and it feels full and like something is in there. I called my regular DR since my ENT is about an hour away and I was able to go right in. He looked in there and said that the bleeding was coming from my mastoid cavity but

really couldnt tell much since there was soo much blood. But told me that I needed to see my ENT, so he has his nurse call to my ENT office and get me an appt. The ENT office called me at home about an hour later and told me that my dr was off on vacation but the dr on call said to continue to use my Ciprodex drops and if I had any more problems to follow up with my dr the next week. I told that nurse. DO you realize that blood is pouring out of my ear. I was not making it up either...it was literly running out of my ear. Bright red blood. Scared the shit out of me and I am a nurse. I went ahead and made an appt for next week to see my ENT but I am totally freaking out that my ear is bleeding. And it still is. Everytime I use my drops it starts up again and then just runs out of my ear. I was wondering if anyone had ever had this happen to them or anything like this. Do you think the my cholesteatoma has came back???

I really hope not I dont want to have that surgery again. I hate goin to the ENT ..I hate the sucker thing it makes me sooo dizzy, I have to take someone with me to my appt so they can drive me home. My semi-circle canals are exposed in my mastoid cavity so any change in air pressure or temp will make me dizzy, and when I use my drops it makes me dizzy also, and It doesnt matter if I warm them up first either. Well any feedback from anyone would be great.!!!!!ThanksLori White

Hello Lori,

My daughter has a cholesteatoma and she too used to bleed from her

ear quite regularly until the c-toma was removed. It tunrned out

that the bleeding was coming from a polyp. The polyp was there

because the c-toma was there. She used to wake up with blood all

over her pillow - she was only 4 at the time. Since she had a

mastoidectomy 2.5 years ago, she hasn't had any further bleeding.

Unfortunately the c-toma is now back and we are waiting for the next

operation....

Just thought this might help.
