Hi ,

Do you have your son taking Magnesium? Magnesium will aide the electrolytes in the digestive system and cause more hydration in the colon. If he is taking Magnesium how much? Our autistic children need more than the average child. If your child won't take magnesium by mouth, there is a simple solution, try bathing your son in Epsom salts for 20 minutes. 1 cup in about 6 inches of bath water will do. If your child won't take a bath, there is Magnesium creams available I think Lee Sylsby compounding pharmacy carries the Mag cream.

Also, there is a decent drink formula for constipation that is made with Magnesium and lemon flavor..it's kind of strong though. Marcs pharmacy carries it, and it will help get the bowels moving within a day. It's called Citroma Lemon flavor Magnesium Citrate oral solution saline laxative. This is one of the better laxatives to use. I used it a few times with my son and he produced a big yield..if you know what I mean.. <smile>.

on more if you need any Hope this helps, I'll work with you more if you have any other questions.

Yours,

n

Hi ,

glad to help. Also, I forgot to mention enzymes and probiotics. Do you have your son on enzymes and probiotics? Enzymes will help break down foods to a smaller degree and make stools more soft. Probiotics also do this as well. Enzymes and Probiotics are 2 very essential needed items to aide in better stools. If you have your son on Enzymes and probiotics would you mind telling me what brand they are. There are some brands that don't adequately do the job. Also some probiotic strains can cause some irritation in autistic children's colon. Such as the Bifidus strain. I have my son's probiotic strains formulated for him. He does best with the formulation to meet his needs. -- (This is WHY we need funding from a good foundation like NEOfamilyfoundation, it's expensive to adequately do a good biomedical treatment protocol to stay on top of everything. Recently I've been having to kick biomedical butt lately because of my son's behaviors are up again. We laxed on biomedical interventions because of cost and things were ok for a good while now it's going downhill again.) So I am back on track and going back to strict dietary and organic foods again. I have to go back to being very strict and on top of things. This will also help him heal faster if I stay on top of it all. His biomedical condition affects everything in his life, school most importantly.

Anyway, hope I can be of encouragement to you.

Yours,

n
