Guest guest
I just wanted to thank everyone that gave advice to me on the problems I have been having with fissures and hemorroids. I have stopped taking the citrucel and have switched to metamucil. This seems to have helped some with the diarrea. The fissure and hemorroids are better. I still am having problems, but it is a little more tolerable now. I have another appointment with the specialist the end of this month. I am doing real well otherwise. My weight loss seems to have stopped. I have only lost a pound or so in the last couple of months. I was hoping to get down a little lower, I am happy with the weight I have lost though. I am planning to have some PS done in a year or so and will lose a little more weight then. I am finally wearing blouses that have been in my closet for at least 5 years. Some of my t-shirts I waited too long to try on and they are too big now. I never dreamed I would be able to wear a size medium to large!!!! I was still thinking I would have to wear at least a X- large!!!! I still haven't bought much cause I've had people give me stuff and have also been shopping out of my closest for over a year now. I did have to go buy a spring dress. I actually bought a size 12!!!!!! I was so happy I was crying in the dressing room. I kinda felt like an idiot. I stayed in the dressing room until I could gather myself. People probably thought I was nuts or something walking out of there with red eyes and everything. LOL Guess that's all for now. Guest guest
Yes.. Rhonda...I have had a fissure appear last fall. and suffered for five months before it was diagnosed correctly.. The LPN diagnosed it as a hot hemorroid. She gave me a prescription foam...no releif at all. Just pain. Then after doc correctly diagnosed fissure. I went with the Nitroglycerin therapy..I have had good relief. but lately I have had more pain and more spasming of the sphincter. :-( So I will be seeing him on Friday...I think I am going for the surgery. I want it to be fixed and from what I have researched. Surgery is painful but you get total relief with recovery. That is what I want. All in all I still feel that it is a little thing. Guest guest
Anita, I would be very interested in knowing the outcome if you do have surgery. My doctor has told me that he does not think that surgery will do me much good because of the frequency of BM's that I have and the fact that they are so loose. What exactly is the Nitroglycerin therapy? I have been given several different medications but none of them give me good relief. I've been dealing with this for at least 6 months now and I must say I am getting really tired of it. It does seem to be a little better but I am still having some pretty bad days. I also have an appointment again this Friday. Are you going to a specialist? I am going to a colon and rectal specialist. Thanks for the post.
