Guest guest
Wow! I can't believe it has been 10 months already... it isn't real feeling, you know what I mean? It only seemed that it was yesterday I was anxously emptying my retirement account so that I *could* retire in the future. LOL Please let me say that I would do it again, and very gladly too. I will be 10 months postop as of September the 1st. But, since I'll be weighing (I would hope) at clinic on the September 28th... only a couple hours after my flight lands, (Please, United, be on time for once!! hahaha!) I weighed today. since I don't own a scale, I had quite an ordeal today trying to find a scale to weigh on. First I went to Bi-Mart, a regional discount chain, to weigh on one of their scales. ACK!!! I weighed on a few and found a varience of 20 pounds between them. Then I went to Wal-Mart... same thing there too. so I broke down and found a physician's office (not even my PCP... over 60 miles away) and asked them if I could use their scale. The receptionist thought it was funny, and let me use their scale after my telling them all about my MGB last November. *laughing* My BP at my last PCP appointment was high... but I was also in an incredible amount of pain, unfortunately. (My fibromyalgia is running rampant, dagnabbit, but that is totally unrelated to my MGB.) but it was no where near the 198/114 preop. I think it was 128/92... but on a low-pain day it usually runs 102/75. Anyway... my weight at the random doctor's office I barged into was 188.... a loss of 112 pounds in 10 months. (The average according to the clos.net site is 100, so I am ahead for now.) I am very pleased. Cat and I went clothes shopping at Goodwill today, and I found 2 pair of shorts, waist size 34, and one gorgeous pair of purple denim, size 14. I can remember wearing a 14 in my freshman year of high school.... in 1981-82. *sigh* I should sign off for now... my best to all!!
