Guest guest
and people were making fun of richard simmons for coming across as money-grubbing? ok, maybe i need to officially be moved to grumpy status. (as apparently, more and more post-ops are. i am almost starting to wonder if that is the goal of all of this stuff...) the link isn't working, so maybe this was just a misguided thought that has smartly been nipped in the bud. if not, i must say i am appalled. yes, i am sure dr. r has thousands of e-mails. he already just ignores most of them, and, i presume, answers the ones that he deems really important. i have e-mailed dr. r a couple of times; gotten answers about half, and never more than a few words. altogether, they weren't worth $10, and in no way approximated an office visit. while most people do not have contact with their surgeons after surgery, most WLS patients do. from what i have seen on obesityhelp.com, most reputable surgeons REQUIRE a series of post-op visits, often included in the price of the original surgery. dr. r has always said that he has the e-mail contact instead of that, but touted it as faster, easier, etc. it has been amazing to me that since all of this hoopla began dr. r has almost seemed like he had an anti-PR person working for him, making move after move that makes him look worse and makes it harder to be supportive. this only adds to that. i think dr. r would make much better use of the time he has on his hands right now beginning the real, scientific, peer-reviewed assessments of the mgb that are so clearly needed. sign me sad, disappointed, and to be honest, somewhat embarrassed that i made this choice, anna
