Guest guest
Donna, I can't speak for being a parent with a child, but I've been through the operation myself a few times. There is usually an outer plug that may fall apart or come out on its own or indeed might be pulled out by a younger patient. In addition, there is usually some kind of a deep plug that is either gel (which will dissolve on its own) or a formed piece of gauze that the doctor will gently tug out. At least I think this is so, I'm not as certain for the tinier patient. Just to make sure, you should call. I doubt anyone would mind a brief phone conversation. It's best to be safer for your son and healthier for you to stop worrying. Guest guest
Hi Donna, don't worry about it. It's only come out because some of the swelling has gone down. There may still be some more .packing, but essentially just keep it dry and keep the appointment in a couple of weeks On Sat, 30 Jul 2011 14:44 BST Donna Harper wrote: >My two year old son, is one week post op (typanomastoidectomy), the packing which we were told to leave in the ear canal until our visit with the doctor on August 17th came out in the night (either fell out or he messed with it during the night).
