Guest guest
I had facial paralysis for about 6 months after one of my ear surgeries for cholesteatoma. When I was in the recovery room after that surgery, I couldn’t smile when the nurses asked me to, so it was decided that I would go back into surgery to determine if the nerve was stressed or severed. It ended up to only be stressed, so it took about 6 months to get the feeling and movement back on the left side of my face. Now no one would ever believe it used to droop, etc… If you’d ever like to read more about my specific story, I have a blog at http://lisaceardisease.blogspot.com/2009/06/welcome-to-my-blog.html Thanks and good luck to you! Guest guest
Hi all 2 years after my 2nd surgery(2002), my facial nerve was weakened, but the doctor said it will recover up to a point. He was right, but 3 years later without any surgical intervention my nerve started to weaken gradually, and within 2 years resulted to total paralysis. After the surgery I had then, in wich a small recurrent c-toma was found, the doctor said the facial nerve "died" due to poor blood supplie. In 2008 I had 2 plastic surgeries in my eye, to avoid the damage of not closing, in my chick and in my mouth. The result was a face symmetry at rest, but a little fricky smile. It is a kind of disfortune and I am in antidepressant therapy, probably in the rest of my life I'd like to hear if someone has confronted somethig simmilar have a nice day s Corfu, Greece From: Arun Gupta <drarunjind@...>cholesteatoma Sent: Wed, March 16, 2011 5:18:34 PMSubject: Re: Re: Anyone with temporary facial paralysis or Bell's palsy after sur I want to clarify difference betwen bells palsy and facial palsy INtersted to know?\ Dr.Gupta Arun,India,EBT Srugeon On Wed, Mar 16, 2011 at 6:31 PM, Christenson, <lisa.christenson@...> wrote: I had facial paralysis for about 6 months after one of my ear surgeries for cholesteatoma.
