Guest guest
Everyone's case is a bit different, but I have had a very successful (in my view) reconstruction in my right ear with an artificial bone. I also have sensorineural hearing loss in both ears, so I was only going to have so much success. In my left ear, the doctor caught things a bit earlier and tried to reshape the hearing bones. I still have moderate hearing loss there (left) ... and if that's moderate I really wonder what severe or profound is like! I wear hearing aids in both ears and do pretty good with them. I use behind-the-ear (BTE) aids with the little tips that stick in to my ears (that still allow air to flow in and out). The ear with the artificial bone is considered just a mild loss now. Guest guest
My hearing has been restored to nearly 95% based on the tests run 6 months after my surgery. I had a radical CWD, with two of the bones undergoing reconstruction at time of removal. Has anyone Got there hearing back after having c/toma removed I lost about 90% of my hearing hoping to get some back or does anyone think I am dreaming Sent from my BlackBerry® wireless device ------------------------------------
Guest guest
I was down to 90% loss before removal, it increased to only 60% loss about 3-6 months after removal. As of 18 months after surgery, I am only slightly below normal at about 30-40% or decibel loss. I also had my ear drum repaired/replaced with facia, and scelorisis scrapped from my all my hearing bones. There is hope at least in my case there was! Here is hoping for hearing returned for you too! Guest guest
From my first surgery, I was able to hear, although the range is below the frequency of the human voice. I can't hear high pitched voices very well at all. It all depends on the damage done by the c-toma and how difficult it is to remove.
