Suzi PS check out the recipes file in the archives/Caroline <ladyguinevere@...> wrote: You guys have talked about orange peel and lemon peel, but I have some wonderful grapefruit from my in laws trees and wondered if the peel from these would be just as good dried and used for Vitamin C? Also, in losing everything in my refrigerator and freezer...I have decided that instead of worrying about replenishing it...I will do my best to use fresh fruits and vegetables and just go to the store a bit more often (my work takes me to the grocery stores each and every day so it isn't like I have to make a special trip to the stores!! lol). I also have had my son agree to us having one TOTALLY raw day per week. I figure this will give him an understanding of what I mean by raw...with using some of the great ideas you guys are giving me on things that can be made without cooking!! I think the more he sees the more he will be agreeable to maybe adding more days per week to eventually going completely raw. Maybe I have high hopes...but I figure one baby step at a time is all I can ask. I know that I could just say that yes, I am the mom and this is how it is...but would rather he be with me on this than against me. Know what I mean? Any additional thoughts on this? Maybe the two of you can put your heads together and see what kind of wonderful raw food meals you can come up with. Should be a lot of fun. Would also give him a chance to be part of it by allowing him to help create it. As for grapefruit rinds, well any citrus has lots of pectin, bioflavonoids and Vit. C. Use 'em all. I do. I have a huge jar that I keep full of orange, mandarin, lemon, grapefruit, lime, tangerine, etc. rind powders in, all mixed up. I take a heaping tablespoonful every morning in a glass of distilled water with a heaping teaspoonful of powder Vit. C to go with it. Sometimes I even add in spirulina. Makes a good morning drink. -- Peace, love and light, Don Quai " Spirit sleeps in the mineral, breathes in the vegetable, dreams in the animal and wakes in man.
