Guest guest Posted May 10, 2011 Report Share Posted May 10, 2011 No, the black spots are the honeycomb type air pockets in the mastoid called mastoid cells. The side with no black spots is the one with the C-toma. The white area is where infection has damaged the mastoid and there are no more “air cells”. The C-toma looks like it is on the left of the CT and the “little” hump to the left and above the arrow. But again I’m not a dr. , this just looks very similar to mine and what the neurotologist told me. See pick below from Gray’s anatomy.
