Guest guest
Hi, Been looking and reading everything lately, hoping to find something to motivate me to lose weight. I have never been able to do a diet I have been on before and have been trying to find something, ANYTHING, I could try. Today, I went to Books A Million and saw The Jerusalem Diet. Just wondered if anyone ever heard of it, or even tried it...thanks
Guest guest
Hey a and others looking to lose a few pounds, I spent this weekend in front of my TV watching Discovery Health. Yesterday, I watched " The Half-Ton Man " and the " 850 lb Man " . Boy, if that doesn't motivate you to get on a program, then nothing will. I have been having problems with grazing all day, especially on sweets and I have gained about 10 lbs over the past 6 months. I got down to 140-143 and stayed there for over a year. Slowly I have crept up to 152. I watched those shows and said, " But by the Grace of God, goeth I " . I was on the border of being Super Morbidly Obese at 385 lbs when I had my MGB. My heart goes out to those who are so big that they can no longer get about and are living in bed, or in a nursing home. The guy who weighed 850 actually died of complications from his weight. The half-ton guy had WLS and got down to 499. I know these shows are old, but I wonder how they have done following the show. I even watched one last night " The Shrinking Woman " about a lady who got up to I think 630 lbs and she had WLS and got down close to 200. She was having reconstructive plastic surgery, such as a lower body lift, thigh lift and wanted to get her breasts and arms done. She did good with the LBL, but had a horrible time from the thigh lift. The docs said she was too malnourished for them to do the breasts/arms. Every single one of these people, as well as others they intereviewed, all had the same thing to say....they were food addicts. I know what that is like, because I am too. Even though I am a size 8-10 now and have had several PS procedures, I still feel fat. I don't know if that will ever change. These shows were a wake-up call for me. Yesterday and today I have done great with the eating. I'm trying to learn to listen to my body and stop all the mindless eating, and eat only when I'm really hungry. I feel better already and find I'm filling up fast. So if any of you out there need any motivation, watch these shows. My heart breaks for these people, and I just hope and pray that I never wind up MO again! I know I can gain weight, and if I don't stop it now, no telling where I might end up. God help me to not go there ever again! Sorry for rattling on so long, but maybe it will help someone else. Guest guest
Dear I too watched these shows. I enjoy the health channel and TLC and Discovery channel as well. I find these programs very motivating to lose the weight and keep it off. I started watching the shows that had to do with the skin removal because I will need to have it done in a couple of years and am trying to do my research in preparation for that. I get my husband to watch with me on occassion. He gets squemmish at times with all the blood, but when it comes to learning about a procedure that is to be done he will watch with me. Good luck with your battle, hope you win the fight.
