Guest guest
Hi Phil Tracie here, I believe we met, yes I had a problem with my incision on the port it drained for two weeks, and finally has closed up, but remember mine was opened twice, this is why I think I had problems with it. I put those butterfly bandaids on it and kept neosporen oinment on it and it has finally healed, good luck Tracie Bartek Aledo, TexasVirginia Herrell <herrell@...> wrote: Hey this is Virginia, from the land of fruits and nuts!!! Guest guest
Tammy, There are coffee protein drinks that are delicous. Here is the link to the site that I order from. AchievOne Lattes I just ordered two cases of them so hopefully we can have coffee after surgery. They also sell other protein shakes that are delicious. I have been living on them this week since I need extra protein before surgery. Karlie
Guest guest
Hi Phil, I have heard of those health farms before from a professor that went to one...crazy! As for the incisions, I never had mine open so you may want to contact Nina to see what she suggests. For me, I would try to get some steri-tapes and close it up, but they may have a better idea...so check with them first! As for the port draining, I had this and though it's alittle unnerving, just keep it clean and do your best not to get too much water on it while you shower. I would clean it with cotton balls and alittle rubbing alcohol which didn't sting at all for me. Best thing is to keep it dry and clean as much as possible, it will soon end and heal of nicely. I know for me it took a bit as it was draining and then it would be red and kinda soft in the middle of the incision but with time it's healed up quite nicely Welcome aboard as a bandster!! I wish you all the best in your weight loss journey. BTW, would you be interested in helping me with my thesis project? I will need to enlist some people to take some questionnaires, it's on bariatric surgery and I will definately need some men in my study. So, if you'd be interested please let me know and when I get it all ready I'll give you a holler. KF (Kelli)>> HI everyone. I got my band 2/27/06. Have done pretty well. Guest guest
Hi Tammy I hate to burst your bubble but I am pretty sure we are NOT supposed to drink coffee. I think it has to do with band erosion but Nina can fill you in on it. Some people drink it occasionally , I think. I used to LOVE my cup of hot coffee first thing in the morning but I have changed my habit to drinking a hot cup of Chai or tea in the morning and don't seem to miss the coffee too much. One day I decided to have a nice rich cup of coffee for a change and it really didn't taste that good to me and I had to water it way down, too!
