Guest guest
I couldn't agree with you more about using alternatives to conventional anti-biotics. 10G of acorbic acid powder a day should fix up most infections. The thing about the possible infections from the sea water is sent as more of a warning. Maybe a warning of worse things to come as we continue to kill our oceans! Suzi PS I dug up some comfrey - have it in a pot.. but it is looking sort of poorly tonite... Don't know if it will be alive by the time it gets to you... I'm wondering if this is the wrong time to dig it up and send it to you.Rica <Bollin772000@...> wrote: what is the name of your herb encyclopedia??is it at bookstores or I get frm you??price?Rica
Guest guest
Suzi, If his tunny is upset, perhaps some slippery elm? I read that it has nutritonal value (comparable to oatmeal!) and can even be made into a porrage? perhaps combined with the carrot? Just a thought? Guest guest
Well i sure hope everything works out ok. by the way, when the grandson refuse liquids when they are sick...i have " force fed " them liquid (tea) thru a syringe. It makes it more like a game with squirting and all. Sylvia > Sylvia, it's a thought and I had considered it..... I talked to her this am... he's not wanting any fluids of any kind... she said he ate to pieces of his grain cereal.. I told her she has to get some fluids into him, even if she syringes some into his mouth... and also to rinse out his mouth.. he may not want anything cause it tastes bad (due to all the vomiting he was doing).. That has stopped and she said no more diarreah and that was good... (and I said...well, how can he have any when he has not eaten or drank and has nothing to get rid of...).. so hopefully tonite there will be better news.. or " Granny " is going back over...with more herbs.. I even suggested she put him in the tub... as he has this wierd thing about drinking bath water... (DUH)... so with just plain water in there he might get some liquid into him... I'm concerned that if he doesn't start getting some fluids soon she'll be taking him in for dehydration... > Suzi >
Guest guest
If kids refuse liquid and are running a fever, try making medicinal popsicles using juice as the menstruum for the herb. If they're not running a fever and are open for foolishness, you can use the juice/menstruum as the liquid part for making jello. If you don't have popsicle molds, freeze it in ice cube trays and then put it in the blender once frozen, just before serving. Add fresh berries and you have the makings of a smoothy. Because its cold it will need more sweetener than a warm juice. Sap is flowing in the maple trees right now, a better choice than honey. The bees are still struggling to make it through the winter in many areas. Apple pectin is a good addition to something like this. Slippery elm is on the indangered list. Perhaps try marshmallow instead? Penel
Guest guest
> what menstrum do you put in jello? For jello, use the infusion or decoction solution of what everherbs you Rx. It could be water if you use a ready mix jello. If you intend to use unflavored gelatin (or agar or whatever vegans use) try fruit juice (bottled fruit juice has already been cooked anyway) infuse or decoct in that. Guest guest
<snip> > You're taking the tincture or what with the juice.. or the juice with the herbs?... If a recipe calls for water, start off with a infusion or decoction as the water. If the recipe calls for juice, make an infusion or decoction with that juice before using it. You can heat the juice up either with the root, bark or seed in it for a decoction. For and infusion, you can heat up the juice and infuse the leaf or flower in it. Decoctions and tinctures don't have to be make with plain water. Like I've said, bottled juices have already been cooked anyway. Before commercial jello, women made jello like confections using unflavored gelatin and fruit juice. Penel
Guest guest
Frozen shoulder is another bummer too. Couldn't move arm/shoulder up/down to the back or any movement for yr. almost.....chiro worked hard at it and felt rolfed each time...pricey but worth saving me from surgery--not an option. Suzi feel wells and take it easy! Hugs, carolgMorningGlory113@... wrote: ..I have been fighting for the last week an impingement (sp) of nerves and blood vessels in the arm from the shoulder...So sorry to hear that Suzi. Just take it easy with that shoulder. It sounds like it's really painful and obviously debilitating. I think most of us have pulled, broken, torn, sprained or twisted something or other in our lives and we certainly understand what that's like. Praying for a speedy healing...Gloria
