Guest guest
I do have to say, since starting school a week and a half ago, she is sleeping REALLY late. She used to be up around 8:00, now she is sleeping til 9:00 or later, some days 10:00, today 11:00! I always knew she was lacking sleep, so I am glad she is getting some extra now. Hopefully it continues. :0) Sharon Re: dreams > > > Sharon, > OMG yes! I have ocd myself and always dream in that manner!!! > My kids do also, but my dreams are like that almost every night. > Funny! Guest guest
I am thinking allergies, she wakes up with a cough, then is fine after she clears her throat. Hopefully that is all it is, thanks. She is loving preschool! Thanks for asking. She cries or whines when I drop her off, not all the time, though, but is fine after I leave. WHen she comes home, she talks nonstop about everything she did. SHe is having so much fun! She is sleeping so well now, going to bed easily, still wakes during the night on occasion, sleeping really late in the morning. She has grown already, just from a week and a half of school! She is happy, feeling good about herself, and becoming very independant. This was a good choice for her. Guest guest
She had another OCD dream last night. <sigh> She doesnt seem upset about them, though, she just tells me about that. I guess that is the same as her needing reassurance throughout the day. Guest guest
Hi ! Well, I haven't been dreaming about my surgery, like you, but for the last four or five days I've had a hard time sleeping just thinking about the surgery itself! All these things keep running through my head and I'm a little stressed out about it. My surgery is next Tuesday, too! How exciting for both of us! I don't have a CI yet, but will be getting two at the same time on that date. I've been told my surgery will take between 5 and 6 hours. But honestly, I wouldn't care if it was 24 hours long as long as I don't have to live in silence one more day. I've had normal hearing my whole life, up until last November, when I was diagnosed with AIED, and by the middle of January I was totally deaf. I've lived in complete silence for the past 7 months and cannot WAIT for this surgery. I've never had to deal with hearing loss before, and to go from hearing normally one month, to completely silence the next, has been a nightmare, and I can't tell you what a lifesaver this list has been for me. I have learned so much. I had no idea what a CI even was a few months ago, and now I'm getting two! I just wanted to wish you the best on your upcoming surgery, . I will definitely be thinking of you on that day. My surgery is at 8 a.m. in the morning. What time is yours? I'm very excited for you and can't wait to hear how things went. A week from today! Yayy for us! Keep me posted, okay? > > Keep in mind that I am the guy whose wife told him that he needed his > head work on, not his ear. Anyway, I wanted to know if anyone has had > this experience. Guest guest
I haven't even had the evaluation yet, and already I've had maybe 3 fairly realistic dreams of getting the implant, prepping and surgery and all. Very weird stuff. Thought I was just going crazy. Meghan From: " " <george.love@...> Reply- Subject: Dreams Date: Tue, 14 Aug 2007 12:17:50 -0000 Keep in mind that I am the guy whose wife told him that he needed his head work on, not his ear. Anyway, I wanted to know if anyone has had this experience. For two weeks now, I have been having dreams every night about the surgery. The first week was two or three dreams, this week I have not missed a night. My surgery is next Tuesday. Is this just me being a nut or did anyone else have this experience? Thanks,
Guest guest
, What you are experiencing is very normal. Given that, I do want to tell you that I have had quite a number of surgeries over the years. I have had CI surgery twice and I must say, they were the easiest ones I had to deal with. The pain was so minimal that I only took Tylenol before I went to sleep at night. For some reason, the after effects of anesthesia have always been something I needed to deal with which included lightheadedness. If I listen to my body and rest when it tells me to, I do very well after surgery. I advise everyone to do this. Years ago when I was recovering from a different type of surgery, a great doctor told me never to let myself get to the point of being overtired. He said that it takes too much for the body to recover. It is so much easier for the body to come back to normal if we remember to just do a little at a time. Every time I have listened to this, I found it to work. May you be blessed with wonderful hearing as so many of us here have after our CI surgery. Good luck goes out to you for your surgery. Guest guest
I didn't dream about the surgery. I *did* dream about the activation. I could hear perfectly <g>. Virg
Guest guest
Hey, , You're crazy as a loon! LOL Actually, this ONE time you can tell your wife that what is happening with the dreams is absolutely normal. I've had several surgeries over the years, including 3 for the CI, and the dream before phenomina is quite common. Now - are you hearing in your dreams? Are you seen negotiating the sale of a diamond for your wife in them? This is not just a sign, but an order! LOL All the best of luck for your surgery. It's going to be fine. ) Jackie ************************************** Get a sneak peek of the all-new AOL at http://discover.aol.com/memed/aolcom30tour
Guest guest
Hello, . Just wanted to wish you the very best in your surgery. Not sleeping prior to surgery is also common. You don't want to wear yourself down before surgery from lack of rest, though. You might try some tylenol PM or ask your doc for a script for a low dose of xanax. This can take the " edge off " and help you sleep. To be going bilateral all at once is so exciting. Hang in there, the best is yet to come. ) Jackie ************************************** Get a sneak peek of the all-new AOL at http://discover.aol.com/memed/aolcom30tour
Guest guest
I didnt dream about the surgery, before or since, . Maybe you're feeling a bit apprehensive, which is understandable. Most people get through the surgery just fine. I would say good luck, but you dont need good luck, you just need a good surgeon :-) Ted F. > > Keep in mind that I am the guy whose wife told him that he needed his > head work on, not his ear. Guest guest
I cant wait for your activation day, . I think you will be truly amazed. Good luck with the surgery on Tuesday. I'll be thinking of yourself and on that day. I hope you both post here afterwards. Ted F. > > > > Keep in mind that I am the guy whose wife told him that he needed his > > head work on, not his ear. Guest guest
I actually was allowed in the OR to watch the surgery being done a few months before having my own surgery. So I knew what to expect, and how it was done, and I had NO dreams about it either before or after. Just wanted it OVER with. But it doesn't surprise me at all that something that is on your mind all the time now would show up in your dreams. On the other hand, I dreamed about Matt Damon the other night, and I don't even like him. So go figure that one out.
Guest guest
One of the first things I noticed after starting iodine was having much deeper sleep and dreaming again for the first time in well over a decade.LinnOn Oct 9, 2010, at 7:31 AM, wally.kathy33 wrote: Hello all I was just sitting here reading through all the recent posts when suddenly, out of the blue, I started remembering a dream I had during the night. It was so incredibly vivid (about my daughter's wedding- she'll laugh when I tell her as that is a bit in the future yet) The reason I mention this is that for years I have not been able to remember my dreams. Since this coincides with my increased energy and improved sense of well-being I take this as a very good sign. I also woke up feeling good and happy for a change. Phew! A few weeks ago I was very seriously depressed so this is extremely encouraging. Thanks to all in the group for your helpful input!
