Guest guest
I wrote this yesterday to my former campus ministry group, and I thought I'd share it with you... Anyway, I just wanted to add that I know how busy schedules can be (believe me, as a first year seminarian and that it's only week two of that, making this transition has been anything but " light " work), but that this is an important milestone hopefully not soon forgotten. As a brief example, with my grandfather (maternal, who just turned 84 on Tuesday), all of my family has made it a point (especially in light of the passing of two of his siblings and many of his war veteran and even seminary colleagues in recent years) to get as much information about what the battle of the bulge from WWII was like, and every time we ask him, or someone else about that, Vietnam, or even the JFK assassination, it always comes with the same undertone: Don't forget about what happened. Whether you go to a memorial service (or watch one or watch one of the old ones) today or not doesn't make you any less Christian or American, but even that people are remembering it in itself should serve as a reminder to us...don't forget about that day. Don't forget... (now back to reading about the origins of the Pentateuch)
