Guest guest
Thanks for the rant. This has been one of my main concerns. It seems this may be the case in Chicago as well. It looks like if I do this I will need to plan on repeat trips south of the border. Guest guest
// I have called 27 TWENTY SEVEN providers in Virginia, land, DC, and Pennsylvania. // I am so sorry to hear about your trouble. Unfortuantley this happens all the time. There was nothing you could do to prevent it. In fact, you were ahead of the game by booking a date prior to banding. I really hate it when people do the right thing and get cheated in the end. Did you try all the Dr's on our list? These are 2 I posted before that I found on another site. If these 2 turn you away please let me know so I can remove them from our list or Dr's. **1st option - this was part of a post online Dr. Brinkley in Frederick - Northern Virginia (301) 668-2800. She is also banded (in MX). $200 a fill she has a great open personality. Moazzez Fair Oaks Professional Bldg. 3650 ph Siewick Dr. #309 Fairfax, VA 22033 703.620.3211 Phone 703.620.3215 Fax Hope this helps. 7/18/05 280/180/
Guest guest
Gosh , Man I feel for ya. I know Dana lives in land. You might ask her where she get her fills. For that kind of money---I'd be flying to San Diego to see the most wonderful Dr. A 's Team of specialists. Also you might try the smartbandsters group. Here's their link: SmartBandsters/ They have all kinds of things going on up there. Hope this helps you. I know how it is to have a hubby breathing down your neck all the time. yuck!!!! I too have been so positive in front of him and will always be even if I was about to die. He'd never know. ha/ha He is really a wonderful man, but if he knew that I had surgery in Mexico. He would have had a hessy fit I'm sure!!!!! Anyway he's real happy so far. I have had just the best attitude since returning from surgery and all is just fine. Remember I was the one that had to sneak out of the house in the middle of the nite--and just do it for me---HAVEN"T REGRETED IT FOR ONE MOMENT and he hasn't either--He gets much more attention now than before--so all is well. Guest guest
Dear , Thanks- Metrobariatrics was one that gave me a definitive no already, but I will try Dr Brinkley now- thanks so much, and thanks for listening to my ranting and raving. Sadly, or not so sadly, depending on what sort of a mood you may be in, it was in the midst of all these calls that I opened a letter from the Commonwealth of VA DMV stating that they could not renew my drivers license because my name, social security number, and date of birth do not match with SSA records. I called the DMV immediately, with both my drivers license, and my ss card in front of me, and spent 45 minutes arguing with the moron at the DMV that the fact that the DMV lists names by Last, first middle and the SSA lists them by first middle last, does NOT mean that my name is wrong. Then I called SSA, who have no idea how the DMV gets access to their incorrect information anyway, who confirmed that both of these documents do in fact have the identical information on them, and that they cannot correct what is not incorrect. So I called the DMV back, and they said they cant go by what is on my SS card, that SSA needs to provide me with a written statement that the misinformation has been corrected. Which, of course, the SSA cannot/will not do, because it is not incorrect. Ordinarly, I am as big a fan of beaurocratic BS stories to share around the water cooler as anyone else. Heck, I work for the county government- I SWIM through rhetoric and BS on a daily basis. Unfortunately, when I woke up this morning I had about 1/3 of a frayed nerve left. And that's gone now, too. I am sitting on my deck with my laptop, partly swearing to myself, partly crying, and partly wondering if I am going to be able to pull myself back together SOON. ( Do you remember the old spoof movie Airplane, when the air traffic controller walks around muttering " I picked a hell of a day to stop smoking? " That's me. Guest guest
Hi , Dana here. If you get really desparate...you could drive to land. I see Dr. Brinkley in Frederick, Md. She also had her band done in Mexico, and will see local and Mexico patients! During my first fill back in April, I meet another nurse from Virginia, she drove to Frederick because she couldn't locate anyone in Virginia to give her fills, but she was going to keep trying. She doesn't come on the board (as far as I know) So I don't know if she found one or not. I think Dr.Brinkley has privlages at the near by hospital, but not for sure. I am taking my daughter for her 1st fill on Aug 30th and will ask if she can arrange fluro at the hospital. She does her fills without fluro at her office. She is an Internal Medicine Dr. She only does fills on the 2nd and last Wednesdays of each month. I also plan on calling a few places in Baltimore to see if anyone will do fills for us, with or without fluro. I'll let you know what I find out......Take care....Dana -------------- Original message -------------- From: jessie harding <hotontop42@...> susan there a fill doctor in bronxsville ny that will do fills from mexico if you need # let me know jessieorrbefore <susanparkerstudios> wrote: Dear All,I have spent each moment since being banded on7/20/06 demonstrating to my family how wonderful it is, what a great step it was for me, and so on, remaining POSITIVE POSITIVE and even more POSITIVE.Now I need to scream and whine for a minute. Guest guest
Dana, Thank you, to you and to all the others who helpfully gave me the info about Dr. Brinkley. In between crying jags this afternoon I left a message on her office voicemail, so hopefully she will call me back. I think I repeated my phone number about 4 times, so that it could be heard amidst all of the sobbing. Frederick land is actually the closest to me of any of the providers Ive been trying. I happen to live very close to the Virginia land border, and if I can manage to cross the Potomac without diving into it, it's about another 15 minutes to Frederick. And you say that she herself was actually banded in Mexico? Awesome. thanks again, P > Dear All, > > I have spent each moment since being banded on7/20/06 demonstrating > to my family how wonderful it is, what a great step it was for me, > and so on, remaining POSITIVE POSITIVE and even more POSITIVE. > > Now I need to scream and whine for a minute.
