I am assuming you replaced the filter on the swamp cooler. Also, you immune system sounds weak, which is leaving you open to infections. Astragalus is very good for building up the immune system. During a sick period, make up some super tonic and take echinacea. You will find these things work better than any antibiotic you have ever had. Hope this helps.
