Guest guest
Good Morning. I'm scheduled for an abdominoplasty July 5 (omg). I'd like a list of medications (suggested/approved/etc) used for pain for MGB post-ops without issue or conflict regarding the nsaid or tylemol element, etc. One that I know this surgeon uses I was told is Klosidol. Is that OK? Also, what could be used, besides morphine immediately post surgery? I was unhappy with the morphine after my MGB - made me feel ill. (My friend who had a TT with this surgeon said she had morphine out of surgery and the Klosidol for 'take'home'.) It'd be great to hear from collegial post-ops in addition to the good Docs and their support staff!! THANKS FOR YOUR RESPONSES - whether privately to midge0138 or via a posting on the boards! Guest guest
Hi Jen, I withdrew off of 4-40 mgs. of oxychontin p/day before my MGB. I know what knee, hip, shoulder, and back pain is. After my surgery, I have taken liquid tylonol only three of four times. I am a little scared to take anything and I put it off as long as I can. We are all different. CLOS recommends that we stay away all nsaids because they lead to stomach problems. I pray that your pain lessens. Blessings, Larry Re: Pain Medication for Post-OPS: Plastic Surgery I was prescribed tramadol for use for my back and hip pain (arthritus). Guest guest
Tramadol is a perfect post MGB pain reliever as it is plain, has no advil or tylenol in it, it is also non narcotic but the brain thinks it is narcotic. Your doctor has really helped you with a good choice as I have taken it as a post op as well. Barbara RN of 33 years but answered as a tramadol user. ============ = Good Morning. Guest guest
Hi Ms Barbara, Thanks for the post. I have never heard of Tramadol. I will read up on it and talk with my PCP. Again Thanks. Guest guest
I have used it as well but only one pill per day. Two make me loopy for 24 hours just like a hangover. For some reason prescription pain meds have affected me differently since the MGB. Elinor R.
