It has not usually mattered for chloe whether or not contrast was used. Typically, even if the scan did not show cholesteatoma, there has been some present. The last time, she had an MRI because she has had a lot of radiation from CTs. It showed nothing conclusive, but she was completely full of new ctoma.

Have you had a second look surgery?

In order to properly diagnose a reoccuring cholesteoma, is a CT with contrast required.   I recently had an CT w/o constrast and it was read that my ear looked like an ear should with scar tissue after a cholesteoma removal...  I can not hear and continue to had ear infections per my PCP...  Help!

No I haven't...  I had experienced repeated ear infections that have been treated by my PCP..  Saw my surgeon and he attempted to clean it out but it was too full of infection.   I can no get my ears to open they fill full all of the time, heart, bleed and I can't hear worth a darn.   Just concerned.... I can't get in to see my surgeon until October 15h..  This has been going on for a year.   My ears ring continually and drive me nuts....  During the cholesteoma surgery the did a reconstruct on my eardrum to make it thinker.    It hears constantly.   I am using nasal spray, one antibiotic after another and ear drops...  Sounds like a revisit by my good ole friend mr. cholesteoma....  or am I thinking negatively?

My cholesteoma form due to the fact my tympanic membran wAS TOO SMALL FROM birthday.   I had one sugery after another, continually infection and my hearing was in the toilet.    I hoped once the cholesteoma was removed things would improve but i contact to get infections in fact my ears bleed at times and i can't hear!   Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts!
