Guest guest
Sue - My brother(LP) has worn hearing aids since 2nd Grade. I, also an LP, was fitted for hearing aids in College (I should have had them much sooner). He had his covered by a medical card. Mine was covered by a state program for educational and vocational rehab, and only cost the state $2000, and cost me $0.00. Hearing issues are common for LPs I've discovered. An audiologist that is a partner with an ENT seems to be the most helpful, and isn't out to make money (in my experience). Get a second opinion if you need. And Audiologist/ENTs seem to be knowledgable about state and gov't programs that could help cover the cost, don't be afraid to ask. Good luck!
