Guest guest
I had a panic attack before my c-toma surgery. At least they think that's what it was. I did wonder if it was related to the c-toma. Since my surgery (18 months ago) I have not had another panic attack. From: <moonshadow2447@...>Subject: Similar Symptomscholesteatoma Date: Sunday, February 27, 2011, 7:53 PM I had surgery originally 20 yrs ago. Last year the c-toma came back and I had 2 additional surgeries making my total surgeries 3 in my lifetime. After this last surery in September 2010 I have had some symptoms I don't remember having before...I am more sensitive to light especially brighter light (wear sunglasses quite a bit now) and I have noticed that sounds like from big trucks driving by if I am walking on the sidewalk really hurt my head...is that normal?? Could it be something related to the surgery or something else?? Has anyone else had these symptoms due to c-toma removal?? I also have noticed an increase in panic attacks and wonder if or how this is all related. Could the panic attacks make me sensitive to light and sounds?? Thanks, I have an appt in 2 weeks with my surgeon but thought I would at least see if others have similar symptoms or if I am just a lonely one out here...LOL
Guest guest
Interesting that you suffer from panic attacks, because I started having panic attacks after my cholesteatoma surgeries began. I personally think it has to do with me having such a strenuous 8 ear surgeries in 10 years during my 20s and it seemed like I was out of control of my health/body/life. I’ve been working on the anxiety for a couple decades now, but the good news is I’ve been cholesteatoma free for nearly 15 years! Good luck to you. Guest guest
That is super amazing you have been ctoma free that long. Panic attacks are not fun at all but I wonder if they are from the stress and how everyone manages it differently...something I am going to have to research more. Thanks for responding. Guest guest
That is great you haven't had another attack. I wish I could say the same for me. Thanks so much for posting...makes me feel a little better I am not alone out there although the attacks are not fun.
