Guest guest
Very often, you can go home a few hours later. We typically keep Chloe one night because she doesn't wake up quickly from anesthesia. Also, don't be surprised if they don't do everything. They have you sign off for all of it, but if there is a large amount of cholesteatoma, the surgeon will probably save the reconstruction for a second look surgery. What date are you? We just got Chloe's next date --June 10. Guest guest
That's exactly what I had on the 20th of April. They weren't able to do the reconstruction part But because I had a CWD they were able to go through my ear canal rather than behind my ear and I was home 5hrs after surgery. Guest guest
Brad,I had similar and was in surgery 4-5 hours, got done about 5 pm. I was in the hospital overnight 14 hours, discharged at 7am. It may have something to do with time finished and that I had a 3 hour drive home.Sent on the Sprint® Now Network from my BlackBerry®From: Bradford Burt <bradford_burt08@...>Sender: cholesteatoma Date: Tue, 17 May 2011 07:56:16 -0700 (PDT)<cholesteatoma >Reply cholesteatoma Subject: Name of Surgery It was eating me alive so I called the docs office, I wanted the technical term of they are going to do to me in 3 weeks: "Tympano Mastoidectomy and Ossicular Chain Reconstruction" I take it..they are doing everything all at once. Guest guest
My surgery was a modified radical mastoidectomy. My hearing bones had to be scraped only, not reconstructed. But I had two cyst-one a c-toma in the attic portion and one was a cholesterol granuloma (similar to c-toma dr wasn't sure if it was a c-toma that developed into the other) it was on my vein and had destroyed a large portion of mastoid and sigmoid plate.Sent on the Sprint® Now Network from my BlackBerry®From: Bradford Burt <bradford_burt08@...>Sender: cholesteatoma Date: Tue, 17 May 2011 07:56:16 -0700 (PDT)<cholesteatoma >Reply cholesteatoma Subject: Name of Surgery It was eating me alive so I called the docs office, I wanted the technical term of they are going to do to me in 3 weeks: "Tympano Mastoidectomy and Ossicular Chain Reconstruction" I take it..they are doing everything all at once. Guest guest
Canal Wall Down procedure where they have the ear be one open cavity it is easier for cleaning and for future surgery to aid in seeing cholesteatoma sooner.
