Guest guest
Let me see....what do I miss? Well, I am 10 months out, 85 pounds less, and a whole lot healthier. But, back to the question....what do I miss and how do I deal with it. Maybe it is the 4 types of medication I USED to be on....no that can't be it. Maybe it is the miserable way I used to feel when I would simply stuff myself even when I wasn't hungry....no, that can't be it either. Maybe it is the fear of dying? That wouldn't be it either I'm sure. Hmmmm....it is so hard to answer this question. Well.....I'll be honest with you. The only thing that I ever even think about for a moment is a hamburger and french fries from Mc's. Pretty disgusting, huh? However, it dosn't matter how much I may miss them, I can NOT eat them! I tried and it just wouldn't work! Now, don't think I was too upset that I couldn't eat those because as long as I know I CAN'T eat them, the cravings are manageable. I think about it and I may say, "Gosh, I sure would love to eat a hamburger!" but the feeling lasts just a moment...nothing longer. The only other thing I find myself licking my chops for is if I SMELL pizza. I'm not a huge pizza fan but the smell can sure make my mouth water! However, since I have decided (or should I say my band has decided) that it doesn't ever want to eat bread again, I am afraid to even try pizza. Again, those feelings or cravings last but just a moment. I think the things I have the hardest time avoiding are snacks...especially during the holidays. I just returned from visiting my dad and family for the week and I couldn't WAIT to get home so I could get back to my empty pantry at home! Christmas was pure you know what when it came to eating! Oh my gosh! This week just goes to prove that no matter how much weight I have lost and no matter how much smaller I may be, I still have the brain and the will power of an obese person! It was very frustrating! I have decided, and I guess committed to the idea since I said it outloud to my husband, I am putting myself back on a self-imposed clear liquid diet for 5 days to rid myself of all the toxins I have placed in my body this week! I don't think I will weigh until NEXT Saturday out of pure fear!!! Anyway, enough said. I have rambled on enough. After a couple of hours it's fine but I can still drink faster than I drain. ;o)Is there anything you miss? Guest guest
You know, I heard someone else mention, and it made sense to me, that if you are that thirsty in the morning, then you must not be getting enough fluids from the night/day before. Hence, you may be dehydrated if you wake up thirsty. If you are dehydrated, that could account for your being so tight in the morning. You might want to start a journal and see how much water you are taking in during the day. Also, try hot water in the morning after you have fixed the dehydration problem. Guest guest
... Yes, I thought about that and you are likely correct. I am so used to Diet Coke and no water that it's a hard habit to break. While I am not really missing Diet Coke in the least, I just have to struggle to get water down. I'm doing 2 protein shakes a day (total of 650ML) and 600ML of water, sometimes. I have a LOT of restriction and I haven't even had a fill yet. I just don't have the patience to wait for water to drain to drink more, I think. > > You know, I heard someone else mention, and it made sense to me, that if you > are that thirsty in the morning, then you must not be getting enough fluids > from the night/day before. Guest guest
Why do you have to wait until the 2nd week of Feb? Isn't the first fill usually done at 6-8 weeks? Shouldn't you be able to get it sometime after 1/19? Dr. A agreed to a very small fill early since I may be leaving the country for 7 weeks but I'm not so sure I want a fill. I want my band placement checked for various reasons but I'm undecided on a fill just yet. > > Unfortunately, I have no restriction at any time of the day.
