Guest guest
Hooray for you...That is great news. Keep us posted on the ball room dancing and what does your hubby say? I think you should have danced at the wedding, don't let your feelings about your weight stop you from doing anything-you are an attractive woman! I maybe going to the water park next week. That in itself is a little scary, but I am going to enjoy myself if we go or we may go to Marine World, not sure yet. Good luck ____________________________________________________ IncrediMail - Email has finally evolved - Click Here
Guest guest
> I am down to 232! Yea! That means a total loss of 41 lbs. WOOHOOO!! You are doing GREAT! Keep up the great work! I was able to > wear a size 18 ladies dress to church yesterday, and can FINALLY wear the > size 18 ladies skort that I bought by mistake from the thrift store. That has to be a great feeling! I can't tell you the last time I was anything less then a 26/28 and am currently more like a 30/32W (though I can wear some 26/28 if it is nice and stretchy). I am going to get a how to > ballroom dance video from the library today. I want to learn and dh > volunteered to learn with me. So, we are going to practice at home (fun way > to exercise). That sounds like alot of fun! So far I haven't found anything we can do together, or should I say he is willing to do with me, or me with him Then he said that whenever I am confident enough he will take > me out for an 'after 5' sort of evening with dinner and dancing. I was thinking about that as one of my rewards as well I can't tell you the last time we were our anyplace without the kids, let alone to a nice dinner. .. I am 5'9 " and > heavy; He was about 5'4 " and maybe weighed 110 soaking wet. If we had > danced, he would have been cheek to cheek with my very ample cleavage! LOL LOL.. I know what you mean at 5'10 " it seems that all the shorter men were interested when I was younger. I always wanted to go out with someone taller then me. I did date a guy who was 6'8 " in college, but it wasn't anything serious. Oh well.. my hubby is 5'8 " so I guess shorter is just fine at all, because I didn't want to hurt his feelings. Guest guest
Keep us posted on the ball room dancing and what does your hubby say? I went to the library and got the How to Waltz tape. It was great! DH and I worked on it for about an hour and 15 minutes. Well, the boys insisted that they get a chance to try too. My 11 year old seems to be a natural. He has promised to practice with me in the mornings. Well, dh and I both worked up a sweat, but we also learned the basic box step and how to turn with it. It was so much fun! We laughed at our awkwardness and felt all gooey and romantic when we finally got it right. One thing I noticed when we were dancing. We decided to wear the same kind of shoes we would wear if we went out dancing. Well, 41 lbs seems to have made a difference in the fit of my shoes! I kept stepping out of them. LOL I am going to have to dig out some of the ones that used to pinch and see if they are right now. Guest guest
>>Maybe that's why he asked in the first place. Many men *like* bigger women.> Yeah, exactly! His wife was always the largest woman I knew growing up. She is very over-weight, but still has a very feminine shape. I have always pegged him as a Chubby-chaser. If he were taller, I would probably have danced with him. I just figured it was bad enough being chubby, without felling like an Amazon as well! Actually, a very handsome man that I grew up with asked me to dance too. I would have really enjoyed it, but he and his wife are having trouble and he is being posted away from her so it felt REALLY awkward. So, I just said that I didn't want to hurt the other mans feelings by dancing after I told him that I couldn't. I sat back and watched the drunks instead. There is nothing like a little cynical entertainment! Cherilyn
Guest guest
>I've lost 41 pounds too - but basically for me it just means my clothes are no longer tight and I can get into a non-streaxhy 26/28 <GBG> Finally! I found someone else who lost a significant amount of weight and didn't change clothing size! When I lost 46 pounds, I, too, stayed in my 26/28's, but about the only place they were looser was in the upper arms and across the bust. My weight loss was in those places you don't see, like my legs, face, in the back between the shoulders, etc. I've had people tell me that I must be lying about my weight loss or about not changing sizes, because *everyone* knows that for every 5 pound loss you automatically go down a size. ARGH! Sue in NJ off to the podiatrist in 5 minutes so I better get off the computer and get ready

ARGH! LOL.... and Santa is real too! I have basically been in the same size no matter what my weight. I am still wearing the same clothes I was wearing when I was 427 as I am now at (waiting until friday) less then I was last Friday at 379.5. That's almost 50lbs difference. The only difference in my clothes is how they fit, some are not as tight, some are the same. The only time I was in a smaller size was when I was doing Optifast in 1990 and I dropped 40lbs to 330lbs then I was able to squeeze into a smaller size, but it didn't last long. a

WOW!! That is wonderful! Maybe I should check it out I doubt my husband would be willing to learn though. Well, the boys > insisted that they get a chance to try too. Then when he grows up he will not only have fond memories of dancing with his mom he will also be able to waltz! Well, dh and > I both worked up a sweat, but we also learned the basic box step and how to > turn with it. It was so much fun! We laughed at our awkwardness and felt > all gooey and romantic when we finally got it right. Romantic?! You mean romance still exists after kids? LOL.... Actually my husband has gotten a little better, after years and YEARS of complaining about never EVER getting flowers from him, other then when I had the girls, he has gotten me flowers for my last 2 birthday's so he is making an effort. One thing I noticed > when we were dancing. We decided to wear the same kind of shoes we would > wear if we went out dancing. Well, 41 lbs seems to have made a difference > in the fit of my shoes! I am noticing this as well. I measured my foot when I was getting the kids shoes and it said I am back in to a 12, but when I tried them on they still were not comfortable. I am thinking maybe as my weight goes down some more they might start to fit again. I grew up wearing a 12, it wasn't until after the kids that my 12s stopped fitting. a
Guest guest
> Romantic?! You mean romance still exists after kids? LOL.... My husband came very well trained! <G> He is actually the more romantic of the pair of us. We have been together 17 years and 4 kids and he still opens my car doors! He runs me a hot bath, when I have had a bad day. He occasionally orders in dinner and sets it up with candles. (On those nights if he can't find a sitter he gets the boys a movie they have been dying to see, and lets them eat in front of the TV. That is a treat for them, too) He rubs my back while I work at the computer, and he mops the kitchen floor! How romantic can you get?!? ;o) The only real impediment to romance at my house is 8 months old, and screams to be nursed at the most inopportune times! <GBG> Cherilyn
Guest guest
I bet you will stay the same until you reach a certain point, then there will be a dramatic size change. I noticed that my belly and legs stayed exactly the same for the first 25 lbs then suddenly, there was a change so notable that I could see it myself. You will probably go from a 26 straight to a 22 or something like that. My belly is the thing I hate most! It has that whole overhanging flap thing going on. My VERY skinny friend was complaining about her c-section scar. It made her not look good in lingerie, she said. I kept thinking, gee my scar hasn't seen the light of day since it was made! Someday, when I put on lingerie and my scar is visible, I will just smile to myself and be glad. Then, I will call her to whine, just for the fun of it! Guest guest
Oh the belly flap! Some goals for me are: -have no overhang at the belly -be able to get my ring off (It has been there since 1999) -be able to grasp my heels while kneeling (my hips are too wide) so I can do the rabbit pose Kim >From: " Laymance Family " <amarna2@...> >Reply-100-plus ><100-plus > >Subject: RE: Re: weigh in >Date: Tue, 12 Aug 2003 11:03:16 -0500 > >I bet you will stay the same until you reach a certain point, then there >will be a dramatic size change. Guest guest
Oops. Sorry about that. I meant to send that to my other list. I'm on a list that has been together for over 7 years. We were all pregnant with kids due in Oct. 96 at the time. We still have about 75 members. We have some sublists, one of which is a fitness list. Most of those ladies snivel about needing to lose 20 pounds so I'm very glad I have you all that I can relate to more. Ann
