Guest guest
I have a Wii, but don't have the Wii fit. I'm very competative with everything I do. I feel like I get a decent upper/cardio workout when I'm playing some of the regular games. Granted, I'm speaking of the sports games, not something like Kart. Amy Wii Fit? Hello all, Question, does anyone have a Wii Fit? I was thinking of getting a gym membership (for what little I could do there), when I thought about the Wii Fit. I've head great things about it, also Wii itsself is very physical and if I can get a work out and bust a sweat here at home, it will save on the gym membership. I heard though you have to enter your height and weight, which ofcourse, will be an issue. Does anyone have it? -
Guest guest
My parent's have the Wii Fit, and to be honest, it's not much of a workout (except for the hula hoop contest). But it is good for balance and reflexes, as well as mental focus. Sort of like Tai Chi. Good for seniors and less active people. Best bet for dwarfs is a club or the Y where you can swim. Guest guest
I bought one this year, and I love it... I do get more of a workout with my trainer and through swimming, but the Wii Fit gives me some great stretching and balance movements. It also tracks well, so I can go in and mark down what I did and the time I put in. I take Yoga through the local fitness center here, what the Fit has offered is more instruction on the poses and my weight transfer.. For example in Warrior One, I was putting too much weight to one foot, it gave me tips on how to change that so I get more out of my Yoga classes now too. I enjoy mine! Good Luck to you! Guest guest
Thanks for the comments so far all! I know swimming at the Y is the best, however, I really would not have time during the week and honestly on the weekends, I wouldn't end up going. I'd be paying for a membership I really didn't use. I did look into the swim exercize arthritis classes at the Y and unfortunately they are all in the morning or at 5pm, both times I'm still at work. Right now I sit at home, and I sit at work. Standing for a few minutes is an issue sometimes, so I'm thinking right now just to get me standing up, physically moving is what I'm looking for, something very low impact. I guess with my hip issue, standing on it the wrong way sends me on crutches for a week. I need to get my hip back in shape very gently while losing the pounds! Ames, you said the sports games get you sweating lol, which games are those?? -
Guest guest
I have one.....it's great!!! But just be prepared that it will tell you that you are obese. Because of the height and weight and age scenario. Don't worry. Just put in all the info. Follow it and do it and it's better than going to the gym. Guest guest
Hiya We have the Nintendo Wii Sports game. And it really has us all moving around the room. And I feel like I've had a real work-out after I've played against someone who's equally as competitive. I was considering getting the Wii Fit, but then I saw how much money it is just for the basic package. I asked myself if it would be just a 5 minute wonder, and if it was, that would be a lot of money wasted. That's when I thought of the idea of getting an exercise bike. I used to love riding a bike, and I know that it would be something I would do regularly (especially with my goal being the NY convention and wanting to be back to my original fit self by the time that comes around....lol). The Wii fit is a great invention, but I think the buyer should know if they have good self-discipline before they buy it, because sometimes just the thought of having to unplug the TV, plug the Wii in, put the disc in, set up the Fit board and all that, is enough to make someone not want to do their work-out that day. That's why I choose a bike that I can just easily hop onto without no second thought....lol. Stick on some music, then away I'll go. Just now trying to find a decent priced Bike Trainer. Thanks Bill and Art for your responses by the way. I will be going with your suggestions Faye > > Hello all, > > Question, does anyone have a Wii Fit? Guest guest
I originally liked the sports game that comes with the Wii. It includes tennis (the one I felt the most results with), bowling, baseball, etc. I got a new sports game for christmas and it's game party 2. A few games on there requires you to be pretty fast if you want to win against your opponent. I assume you get out of it what you put in. If you're merely sitting on the couch, flicking your wrist, then you're not going to feel much. If you stand up and really GET INTO the games, then you'll feel something. Amy Re: Wii Fit?
