Albudhadweep, The Amazing Island

This came up and I do not know the significance of why it did,

but it makes one wonder why it did in 2008, now almost 2009.

However, I do recall posting about this in 2005. Wow, time really

flies on here. It was then, prior to the making of 'Albudhadweep',

that an Indian film maker was looking for 300 +/- lps to star in it.

It was also then when (supposedly) American film director/producer,

Ron , had bought the rights to it as he was 'planning' to make

an American version of it starring (supposedly), Leonardo DiCaprio.

I say supposedly twice, because even though I found and read all of

this online, and in the 'news' section on 'us' no less, is it really

going to happen? That, I do not know.

Wikipedia on The Amazing Island:

Where I first got wind of it today doing a news search on 'us':

and-jill-261208.html

The link where you can go to see the movie, completely (all at once)

or in sections... and yes, you will see the lps right from the start

and yes, there are A LOT of them. Now, are there 300 of them???

That I do not know too. OK, maybe 299, but I doubt 300!!!:P

Excerpt from another link on the movie:

" Albudhadweep (meaning 'Amazing Island') is the name of a Malayalam

language Indian movie, which created history by becoming the first

Indian movie whose remake rights have been bought by Hollywood.

The movie, directed by Vinayan and starring Pritviraj and Mallika

Kapoor, is about a mysterious island where all the men are dwarfs

and all the women are of average height.

Albudhadweep was released in 2005 and the remake rights were sold

almost immediately to a Hollywood producer who was in India at that

time. Leonardo Di Caprio is going to star in the Hollywood version,

and all the 300 dwarfs who starred in the Malayalam version will

re-enact their roles in the English version. "

Since I do not speak the Malayalam language, it is beyond me to shed

any more light (info) on it and/or on its premise (storyline) for you,

other than what's above. Still, to me it looks to be a

comedy-romance-action flick with parts of it purposely being silly and

other parts of it being very serious, especially when it comes to the

all lp warrior scene when the lp men see some ap men drift (or

shipwreck?) ashore... I guess, they now feel threatened by the sudden

'emergence' of ap men:P. But, I'm guessing here too, they drifted or

'shipwrecked' ashore to save the ap women and themselves obviously.

Make of it what you want to and take from it what you want to:). What?

Does it look like I own your freedom to decide on your own too?:P

luv, grady, who, honestly wouldn't want to live on an all male lp

island... unless, of course I was the ONLY male there, surrounded ONLY

by females, both ap and lp. See, I am fair and balanced:).

I included both! haha;) What? You own my freedom to joke now

and in my own post too no less?!:D Be gone from here!!!:P
