Guest guest
I wear my hair very short now. I used to have shoulder length hair but because of shoulder pain, hands shaking and pain in hands I have a "pixie" short hair cut. It looks good on me because I am a petite woman and short, 4 feet 11. My hair is also straight so I just wash it and towel dry it and that is it. Don't need to do much to it at all. Very easy and simple. As soon as it starts getting a little unruly, I go and get a cut. Who's never won? Biggest Grammy Award surprises of all time on AOL Music. Guest guest
I let my hair grow out and pull it into a pony tail or just pull it back and put a barrett in at the nape. Sandie -- What do you do? What do you do when you hurt so bad you can't fix your hair? Do you get a wig? Do you get a hairstyle that needs little fixing? Do you shave your head and get a cute hat? Seriously- what do you do? I'd like to hear from others how you deal with this? I feel better when I look better, if only to me.
Guest guest
Very short hair for me too - see pic at http://www.fms- help.com/fibro.htm - mainly had to go to this short hairdo because of sweating a lot. Hard to believe I used to have almost waist length hair. But no more...here in Florida it was unbearable - like wearing a fur hat!

Guest guest
I use clip on hair pieces after I pull my hair back in a bun. Guest guest
I had my hair cut really really short. I had always wanted a real short cut anyhow, but was always afraid to try. Finally I had to admit that I couldn't style my hair on a daily basis, so I got a really short cut. I asked my hairdresser to give me a cut that I had to only blow-dry. I'm very happy with it. Guest guest
Ditto on the short hair. I can't manage a blow-dryer, and my 'do works out just fine. Just fluff and go. My problem is it needs to be trimmed every 6-7 weeks, and the stylist's chair give me neck and back trouble. I try to schedule body work (massage or PT or chiropractor) visit shortly after the haircut. Sometimes it seems we can't win for losing, right? Guest guest
Obviously we know we are now being confronted with the potential for yet a whole new invasive and insidious form of ridicule and disrespect...camera phones. It happens when we least expect it, while we are doing the same normal things everyone does...only OUR image doing these normal things gets uploaded on the Internet for ridicule. Awww, why don't these images by strangers ever get uploaded because our uniqueness INSPIRES in how we live and surmount our challenges? [sigh] When we become aware someone has their camera phone out collecting our image, what should we do or what should we say? Should we even try? Recently, I became aware of a middle aged man taking my image as I returned a shopping cart to its' place in a parking lot. My blood raged within and I didn't dare open my mouth for what could have come pouring out, but I did flamboyantly curtsey and bow. The rage I felt turned into a " Ka-Ching. " Yet I am not sure this is the best way either. Some of you have actually talked to the perpetrator and even successfully demanded the picture(s) be deleted while you watched them being deleted. A part of me SO applauds this, and yet I cannot help but also fear it could possibly be dangerous. And can we be absolutely sure that what is deleted IS actually deleted? Can we be sure? Anyway, by addressing this here, and the best ways we can all deal with these people, we become " armed " with the knowledge NOW for a potential situation later...we can then know how to best respond in the moment. This may also help our many dear parents of LP's here too, if they should find themselves confronted with someone infuriatingly aiming a camera phone at their child. What do YOU do when a camera phone is being aimed at you? If it hasn't happened yet, what WOULD you do if this happens? Adelaide
Guest guest
i don't know either to do, confront or walk on. tho it hasn't happened to me yet, or that i know of, but ironically when i do find such a video or image caps online, before i open them up i almost anticipate that it might be me. I am out there in the public a lot, and i think it's only a matter of time when i will actually find me on someone's you tube or photobucket or like account, sigh too:(. what i find ironic also is that those who usually vid cap us are the same ones who would never be our friends or say stupid things like a dwarf, ew, etc. thus, if they dislike us that much wouldn't you turn the other way when seeing us? just a thought? people are strange for sure. it's like a few out there have a weird morbid curiosity about us, even tho they would never be our friends or even attempt too, but they will stop their car or dead in their tracks to snap a pic of us, go figure? and more sad is that I see women lps get it more, probably every time a lp guy is vid capped, 2 females are, or 66% or 2/3rds of the women are compared to the men. what makes me sicker yet is when is an lp kid is vid capped and then even made fun of via what is called, video response, on you tube. some might know the viral sensation who has a rare form of dwarfism and who loves to make singing vids, he even made one with hip hop singer, 50 Cents. well, he is only 15, maybe 16 now(?) and i have seen 40+ year old plus men make fun of him, mocking him, etc, and i think wow, if you're 40 and you got to mock a teen, no matter how silly you may have truly thought he is to you, you have a problem, a mental one. ~grady
