Guest guest
Now I have not seen the movie yet I am only going on what i saw in the first 5 min of the movie so I hope I asses this right. If not I will be the first to post a retraction. The national federation of the blind as made protest against the movie " blindness " http://movies./feature/blindness_blog.html It says that it depicts indivuals who are blind as incometent. I don't think that this movie is trying to do that. I myself totally understood the messege being visually impaired myself and in some cases VERY scared or becoming totally blind. I think the first 5 min of the movie dipection of the charicters disorinted behavior and reaction to his surroundings authentic for someone who is not blind but has been suddenly " srickken " blind. The intense fear of it especially when it is unexpected. I mean one cannot just put yourself in that mindset without being a little fearful and acting bewildered. I think however the film does take it to far in the concept that when one is blind they cannot learn those copeing skills and be very productive. Blindness was suppose to be a metapor that did not translate well at all. I think it was using it as a metapor for the one thing that people all fear. I know i do. I actually am intrested in it because it may bring to light some of the issues and challanges that someone may face. Like i said I have not seen it yet. I am just glad it is not a comedy about this sensitive topic.
