Hmmm... Lets see. My mom smoked for something like forty years,

then quit.

She went to doctor and used Wellbutrin for a period of time, says it

really did help. Went on wellbutrin for a couple weeks, then did

patches and used gum to help.

She says it helps, once youve quit, to TELL yourself you are a

nonsmoker. For example, If you see someone smoking and want one, say

to yourself, no I dont want a cigarrette, Im a nonsmoker. Sounds

silly, but helps.

But she said, go to the doctor and go on wellbutrin for a month, then

wean off of it. Shes tried quitting previously, and each time the

first couple weeks were the worst. This time, the successful time,

the wellbutrin seemed to make the first period of time bearable.

The wellbutrin really does help but DON'T take if after surgery. I learned that the hard way. It had a coating on it that turns into a paste that cloggs your stomach after surgery. It took me 2 weeks to get over that one. I found out later that it was the culprit as far as my dumping so much the first week. Talk to Dr. Aceves about it, I'm sure he will remember what it did to me. Becky omhasen <skwilks100@...> wrote: Hmmm... Lets see. My mom smoked for something like forty years, then quit. Thank you , that gives me some hope....I have been smoking for about the same time. I have tried several times, once with Wellbutrin, but all I got out of it was a very dry mouth.....but that was several years ago, and I have a motivation now. Thanks for the help...... omhasen <skwilks100@...> wrote: Hmmm... Lets see. My mom smoked for something like forty years, then quit. Thank you!!!!!!!! that is excellent information. I met a nurse that went to a hypnotist. (spelling?) She said that this one has about a 90% success rate. She was very scepical when she went, it worked, and that was almost a year ago. I am also not that convinced that this will work, but perhaps......will make it easier.... Have to get this persons phone number and I will let you know how and if it works....Becky <juskissn@...> wrote: The wellbutrin really does help but DON'T take if after surgery. Hi

I went to a hypnotist for weight loss once. I

absolutely loved it and did lose about 20 lbs. It was

soooo relaxing. But then I moved and couldn't do it

anymore and gained it all back plus more.... Thus

here I am banded and doing great and NOT gaining it

back!
