// Even if it takes me longer than 20 minutes to eat I measure me a CUP of food and that is ALL I eat//If you choose to make your own rules, don't be upset when the pouch fails you. A cup of food I a lot of food. It is not required that you eat a cup of food. The cup is used to measure if you are eating too much food. You should only be able to eat a cup of food at the MOST.I have cut ant pasted the info below from 's web page. The link below will take you directly to her page.http://www.tracyslapband.com/pouch.htmIDEAL MEAL PROCESS (rules of the pouch):1. The patient must time meals five hours apart or the patient will get toohungry in between.2. The patient needs to eat finely cut meat and raw or slightly cookedveggies with each meal.3. The patient must eat the entire meal in 5-15 minutes. A 30-45 minute mealwill cause failure.

BR>4. No liquids for 1 ½ hours to 2 hours after each meal.5. After 1 ½ to 2 hours, begin sipping water and over the next three hoursslowly increase water intake.6. 3 hours after last meal, begin drinking LOTS of water/fluids.7. 15 minutes before the next meal, drink as much as possible as fast aspossible. This is called "water loading," IF YOU HAVEN'T BEEN DRINKING OVER>//As far as restriction.....yes I have plenty. If I stopped eating in 20 minutes I would only have About 3-4 bites of food in my pouch//Then your bites are too big.//I am NOT defeating the purpose of the band. Like you said everyone is different.//You are in denial. There is no reason to get upset with me, I have not done anything wrong. I simply offered my advise. You seem to have your mind made up. Why would you post questions if you already know the answers?7/18/05280/180/140

Dana, Your new pouch can hold approx 5 to 6 ounces, a little more for other patients, this is why they usually say to measure a cup of food and that if you can eat more than 1 to 1 1/2 cups your band needs to be tighten a little bit. This is of course considering you are eating solid food and not drinking with your meals and eating in a period of less than 30 minutes. If you can eat 3 cups of food,m for example, then the food is passing too fast thru your band. Ninarondana@... wrote: , Where did you get these rules from?? Dana, you can

find it in the files section of the group at this link (I hope this works)

http://f1.grp.fs.com/v1/QHHcRFd2REOo9A20AIGnDN4Pze4xUJQuya1ZnWn9LXSLwHO4YucvMgjcCEjcylp86z4CoR1MjrR2HHgqGU0UEg/Pouch%20Rules%20for%20Dummies.doc

And at my web

site here http://tracyslapband.com/pouch.htm

I also agree

that water loading is for gastric bypass patients. By the way, we do have our

own rules. They are called the 10 rules of the band LOL. They can be found

here: http://tracyslapband.com/lapband.html

and they are as follows:

Eat only three small meals a day

Eat slowly and chew thoroughly (15-20 times a bite)

Stop eating as soon as you feel full

Do not drink while you are eating

Do not eat between meals

Eat only good quality food

Avoid fibrous food

Drink enough fluids during the day

Drink only low-calorie fluids

Exercise at least 30 minutes a day

Don’t ask

me where I got these because I can’t remember but if you surf the OH

boards you will probably find them. I think they should be expanded upon to

include what we have been talking about as far as portions and when to stop

eating.
