Afternoon,

For those needing contact info. I had my surgery 5-17-02.

I weighed in at 311. I was a slow loser and lost until I was almost 3 years

out.

I had to have my gall bladder removed within a year of the mini. It was no

big deal

and I definitely have done much better without it.

Last summer, I became aware of being severely anemic. I have been having

iron infusions since then. The first set was a series of 3 on a weekly

basis. After three

months, I had a nother series. I am ow monitored every 6 weeks to see if I

am slipping again.

The iron infusions definitely help. WIthin a week of the infusion, I begin

to perk up and get some

sleep. It is strange that when I am at my worst, have difficulty getting

restful sleep.

I have continued with the liteny of other medical problems. Some have

worsen and others

have improved. My blood pressure originally stayed close to 180.120, now it

gets up to 110/70.

My knees have both continued to be problems. I had to have one replaced.

It is good to go now.

The other one continues to deteriote and another knee replacement looms in

the future.

I have fibromyalgia, and arthritis. Both diagnosed prior to the mini. Both

improved only

slightly after the surgery. Over the past 3 years both have become

increasinly horrible.

I am now having to take Predensone, etc. I have maybe 3 good days a week.

The good thing about all of this is having had the mini. If I had not have

had the surgery, I would be

bed ridden by now and unable to work even part time. I would not haven

become more conscious

of my eating habits and health issues and who knows if I would even be alive

now.

Yes, I am glad I had the surgery. I would do it over without any

hesitation. I like being thin and able to

wear pretty clothes and have people say I look pretty instead of that I just

have pretty hair.

Dr. R and his staff are awsome. I am so thankful for them each and every

day.

I had lost down to 140, but over the last 9 months I have gained up to 164.

The doctors say it is

primarily a function of the medication.

Will answer any questions, just email me.
