Guest guest
** I posted this yesterday but didn’t see it on the list. There are several theories on how you should calculate how much protein you should have. I always went by: “Ideal weight " divided by 2.2, Multiply answer by 1.25 to get what your daily protein intake should be My ideal weight is 150 so my daily protein intake is 85 (rounded). But according to a couple places, that is too high. I think it also depends on your activity level and body structure and what you are trying to accomplish. This web site has a calculator http://health.ivillage.com/healthcalc that shows mine should be around 56 grams a day. But most web sites agree that 20% of your daily calories should come from protein. I don’t know if these are recommended for maintaining a healthy weight or if they have figured for people trying to lose. So that is why I always went by the first formula. Here is another link http://www.indoorclimbing.com/Protein_Requirement.html to help you calculate. Just remember, they are all different. I say go by what your body tells you. I know I do pretty good on around 65 to 70 grams a day.
