He's 'bionic' now ... so the cool factor is still there.

What great news.  This was about the same for my eight year old daughter.  I noticed now that her ears are healed that one sticks way out compared to the other one.  I try not to do pony tails so the kids at school do not notice.  She does not notice but I sure do.  But I will have this any day and have her disease free.

,How long has it been? Chloe has had the postauricular procedure 10 times since age three. She is about four months out from the most recent and her ears both look adorable. She loves pigtails. If anything, her operated ear sticks out less.

By six months to a year after surgery, she always has looked great. If you bend her ear forward, you can see quite a bit of scar tissue, but even that is flattening out over time.  She is eight and doing great:)

,     Allyssa her last surgery was in January of 2011.  The scar in the back of her ear looks great.  But her ears are definitely in different places.  Her non opt ear is back and looks natural and her opt ear sticks way out.  Neither ear is bad looking on there own but they are not the same and do not look centered to her pretty face.

Quinn's ears area  bit more stick-outty and one more so than the other, but it doesn't bother him at all.You can see it in this pic:
